"This is real Costa Rican 🇨🇷 typical food" Zarcero is known for its beautiful and colorful park. Its Catholic church is also well known to be one of the most iconic ones for those tourists looking for the real Costa Rican countryside experience. The Zarcereños are super welcoming people and by the way the "queso arrollado" is a must try. This year my friends and I decided to eat at this Soda (mini restaurant or cafeteria, Costa Rican Style) this kind of small and informal restaurants are all over the country. They are usually run by families 👪 or groups of women who want to have their own business. The food we tried was incredible good, I had the typical Costa Rican breakfast. Gallo pinto with onions steak, a fried overeasy egg two toasts ( usually hand made tortillas) aguadulce with leche Pinito. My friends got empanadas arregladas, chorreadas...and so on. I was amazed not only by the great taste but also for the affordability. I spent $25 for five breakfasts. Nobody can beat that. Absolutely recommend it.

We really enjoyed our lunch here. Just off the main street so no busy street noise. There was a nice atmosphere with music, a market in behind and a busy local atmosphere. The seafood soup was huge and very tasty. We also enjoyed cantones fried rice that had an amazing smokey pork/bacon. The restaurant was clean, staff were friendly.

Good food with affordable prices, right next to the church and park. The spicy pickles really complimented the Casado. I would definitely...
