The place is located in the hills near Brtonigla; it is not signposted from the main road (where it just says “Veralda Winery”…), and my GPS left me only at the mouth of the road leading to the hotel – continuing on eventually took me there (after 50 m there is actually a sign).||Once you are there, you will find free parking both next to the entrance and around the corner (follow the “P” sign). The hotel sits in a nice, well-kept garden setting, together with the restaurant (the yellow building, which also has a large terrace with a view).||If there is nobody at reception, check in the restaurant – someone will help you.||The rooms are on the ground and upper floor; there is no lift. Note that not all rooms face the sea – some actually look into the hills. The view towards the sea – which I did not find that exciting, but appreciate that it becomes captivating towards sunset – is somewhat spoiled by a HV electrical line crossing it.||Once inside the rooms, expect to find a stylish design; mine (#2) even had a painting printed on the wall. There is a full wardrobe, but no desk; there is also only one chair. Amenities include a minibar, a coffee machine, and a safe.||The bathroom is big enough to be able to move around, and has a spacious shower; however, it only has a single, standard size wash-hand basin, and hardly any space to put your toiletries.||The beds are comfortable, with two pillow types provided. While during the day, you hear the noise of the nearby main road and the engines being used in the fields around, at night it is blissfully quiet.||The windows have shutters, but they do not completely keep the lights out (little cracks remain around the edges); the curtains are rather ornamental (they were not as wide as the windows), but closing them helps…||The Wifi worked well, but had intermittent, short disruptions (a few seconds). There is one router per room – pick the network with your room number.||The breakfast buffet offers a limited choice, but at good quality; you can order eggs to your liking, as well as coffee.||Having dinner here is the obvious choice, and recommended; book ahead – it fills up with guests from elsewhere, who come both for the food and the views.||Service throughout is very friendly – everyone will do their utmost to...

Frische Regionalküche auf Gourmet-Niveau

Die Villa Morgan ist ein geschmackvoll ausgebautes landwirtschaftliches Anwesen in Brtonigla. Es liegt in der hügeligen Wein- und Naturlandschaft um Buje und bietet mit 4 luxuriösen Hotelzimmern, einer Suite und einem wunderbaren Pool mit Fernblick im gepflegten Garten einen exklusiven Rahmen für eine erholsame Auszeit. Das vom Guide-Michelin empfohlene Hotelrestaurant offeriert frische Regionalküche, die auf hohem handwerklichen Niveau kreativ zubereitet wird. Die natürliche Gartenterrasse mit Pavillion um einen 400 Jahre alten Baum ist ein absoluter Traum. Wir hatten das Glück einen herbstlichen Sonnenuntergang auf der Terrasse zu erleben - ein unvergessliches Erlebnis. Bei unserem diesjährigen Besuch mußten wir zwar auf den beeindruckenden Sonnenuntergang verzichten, doch kulinarisch war der Abend wieder ein überzeugendes Erlebnis. Die Küche setzt auf beste regionale Produkte - dazu wird z.B. eigenes Geflügel gezüchtet. Als Gruß aus der Küche wurde uns eine Wildpaté mit hausgemachten Chutneys (Zwiebel, Paprika und Zitrusfrüchte) mit Brotchips gereicht. Als Primi wählten wir Safran-Risotto mit gebratener Gänseleber sowie gebratene Gänseleber mit Honig und Muskat-Wein - beide Gerichte waren perfekt zubereitet und hatten Fine-Dining-Niveau. Der 2. Gang war ein zarten Spanferkelrollbraten mit einer unglaublich aromatischen Kräuterfüllung - das mikroskopisch fein zerkleinerte Rosmarin hat uns besonders beeindruckt. Dazu wurde ein wunderbares Kartoffel - Millefeuille mit Apfel-Topping serviert - Himmel und Erde für Foodies. Auch das Carpaccio von der Gänseleber und Ravioli vom Haushuhn waren auf hohem handwerklichen Niveau zubereitete Vorspeisen, die uns geschmacklich ebenso überzeugten wie die diesjährig gewählten Hauptgänge: Frische gebratene Gänseleber und ein zartes aromatisches Kalbsfilet. Die ausgewählten Desserts, Apfel-Tarte und ein warmes Schoko-Küchlein mit flüssigem Kern und schwarzen Trüffeln waren der krönende Abschluß eines puren Menues. Das Schokotörtchen, eine Hausspezialität, war angenehm locker und klebte nicht ein bisschen am Gaumen. Der ausgesprochen freundliche und professionelle Service, der preiswerte und gute Hauswein und die dezente Jazz-Hintergrundmusik machte dieses Menue an einem Spätsommerabend in der Villa Morgan zu einem Fest für die Sinne. Das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis ist ausgesprochen günstig und liegt nur geringfügig über den örtlichen Durchschnittspreisen - daran hat sich auch nach der Euro-Einführung nicht geändert. Ne znam tko iz teama čita ove recenzije ali upućujem je vodstvu restorana i kuhinji. Vaš restoran je za mene dugo godina predstavljao destinaciju koju sam vezao uz iskustva za pamćenje što se tiče gastronomskog aspekta no i u jednakoj mjeri usluge koji skupno čine nešto vrijedno preporuke svima već poznatih institucija koje tako ponosno prezentirate na ulaznim vratima. Jučerašnje iskustvo je bilo teško razočaranje.

Krenulo je sa našim upitom glede toplog predjela i vrste tartufa koja je bila dostupna tog momenta za staviti u tjesteninu. Tražili smo Brumale( zimski crni tartuf) kojeg smo više puta jeli na tom mjestu i rečeno nam je da ćemo ga dobiti, te smo vrlo jasno iskomunicirali količinu porcija koja će biti dovoljna za grupu od nas sedmero. Ono što smo dobili definitivno nije bilo ono što nam je prodano(vrsta tartufa) a kasnije se ispostavilo da ni količina nije odgovarala. Za glavno jelo smo naručili manje više sva mesna jela sa menija. Pohvalit ću obraze i odrezak od jelena koji su zaista bili vrhunski. Ono što je bilo jako loše, ili čak nedopustivo je bio T-bone steak koji je bio kriminalno prepečen. Razumijem da se može dogoditi greška, no ako su od 2 steaka oba prepečena, nešto sa kontrolom kvalitete ne valja. Posljednja stvar koja je zaista ostavila gorak okus u ustima je bio odnos osoblja(dotična bi se trebala pronaći ovdje) prema nama. U trenutku kada nam je ispostavljen račun uputili smo prigovore glede količina koje su bile fakturirane. Ne radi se o novcu i materijalnom aspektu već o osjećaju da vas netko želi prevariti u momentu kada je dojam već podosta okaljan. Vrhunac ili bolje rečeno dno dosežemo raspravom sa osobljem te ciničnim komentarima u momentu kada je već sve gotovo i spremni smo za polazak. Svatko može imati loš dan i ne prozivam nikoga na temelju simpatičnosti ali ovakakva serija propusta je nedopustiva za bilo kakav ugostiteljski objekt a pogotovo ne za nekoga sa toliko dugom tradicijom i renomeom. Dugogodišnje goste i daljnje preporuke ste izgubili sa naše strane, a ono što Vam od srca želim je da se istinski i dobro zapitate kuda plovi ovaj brod u nadi da će se vratiti onaj dobri stari Morgan iz kojeg smo svi imali tako lijepe...

Our dining experience in the tranquil countryside was truly delightful. The chef greeted us with delectable finger bites like carrot and radish in leek infused oil, as well as a liver pate paired with orange puree. The starters of tender beef carpaccio and goose liver pate with expertly prepared toast were exceptional. The main dishes stole the show: a succulent veal cutlet with creamy potato puree, and melt-in-your-mouth calf cheeks served with perfectly cooked polenta. These two dishes alone made the journey to this charming rustic restaurant absolutely worthwhile. The attentive and knowledgeable young waiter guided us through the menu, adding to the overall experience.

Great ambiance and superb views. That is pretty much it. Never paid more for less!! Very disappointed with quality and quantity of the entrees/side dishes having in mind this supposed to be one of the Istria 's finest... Eaten in quite a few restaurants in the area and had fantastic experiences which sadly can't say for Morgan. Very limited red vine selection which was a surprise. Great Foie Gras carpaccio and very good desserts with exception of the dark and white Chocolate cake which was mediocre. Was expecting lot more value for the $$$ and according to the reviews. Would definitely consider many other restaurants(of the similar range)in central Istria region instead...

If I could give 6 stars, I would. We found this place by coincidence and where happy that we had been so lucky. The restaurant offers a nice selection of food with local Istrian touches. From our table we could the the vineyard, where our wine was from. It does not get more local than this. The quality of the food is excellent, with many homemade features (e.g. homemade jam for the cheese selection). The service is great, friendly and attentive. And best of all you don’t need a second mortgage on your house to eat here. For the quality and service provided, the prices are more than fair. Stay as you are and we will come back for sure!

If I could give 6 stars, I would. We found this place by coincidence and where happy that we had been so lucky. The restaurant offers a nice selection of food with local Istrian touches. From our table we could the the vineyard, where our wine was from. It does not get more local than this. The quality of the food is excellent, with many homemade features (e.g. homemade jam for the cheese selection). The service is great, friendly and attentive. And best of all you don’t need a second mortgage on your house to eat here. For the quality and service provided, the prices are more than fair. Stay as you are and we will come back for sure!
