A Culinary Experience by the Water – Kaštil Slanica Impresses!
We had the pleasure of visiting Restoran Kaštil Slanica, beautifully located by the water, and it turned out to be an experience we won’t soon forget. The restaurant offers a charming atmosphere with rustic elegance, stunning views, and warm, genuine service – but what truly stood out was the food.
We ordered both frogs and eel, two dishes that may not be the most common – but here, they are prepared with such finesse and care that every bite felt like a tribute to traditional Dalmatian cuisine. The frogs were perfectly cooked, golden and crispy on the outside with a delicate, mild flavor reminiscent of chicken but with its own distinct character. The eel – rich, tender, and full of flavor – was served with a rustic sauce that paired beautifully with the local wine we were recommended.
It’s clear that Kaštil Slanica takes great pride in their culinary craft and local ingredients. Highly recommended for anyone seeking something authentic, delicious, and a little out of the...

We were seriously let down by this restaurant. The prices are absurdly inflated — there’s nothing on the menu under €20, and what you get in return is shockingly poor quality.
The burger came served on burnt bread, practically charred. The fries tasted like old fish, likely from being fried in reused oil. The lamb chops? Barely cooked and bleeding. And if that wasn’t enough, the white wine was served warm — a basic mistake no restaurant charging this much should ever make.
There are countless better — and cheaper — places to eat nearby. For these prices, you could be enjoying a proper meal at a top-tier restaurant, not settling for this.
The only thing that was decent were the pancakes, but even those came at a premium price.
And seriously — if you’re charging this much, the very least you can do is serve chilled white wine. Absolutely...

Fantastic flavors of autochthonous Dalmatian cuisine. A wide selection of dishes from river fish, sea fish and meat. I definitely recommend trying the appetizer called "Težačka marenda" together with the soparnik. With this appetizer you will experience a great combination of flavors of original, domestic and local products.
The waiters are extremely professional and friendly, they know how to give excellent recommendations for food as well as for drinks with food. The ambience is beautiful and the atmosphere is special, definitely a restaurant worth visiting if you are in this area. The experience is quite different from local seasonal...
