We were excited to finally go to Radmanove Mlinice, sadly a huge let down. Arrived August 7, 2023 in the evening to a rustic outdoor restaurant with a comfortable ambience. Waiter told us to sit where we wanted. Many waiters but restaurant was about a quarter full. Service was very good and friendly. Second waiter even brought free ice cream for my 2 year old niece. I really wanted this to be great. New ownership. Ordered appetizers which were good (Dalmatinski pijat which had prsut, cheeses, slanina, olives and sardines on it). Bread was delicious and homemade. Soup was excellent. Plata Radmanove Milince was very disappointing at 123 EUR for 4 people. Meat not cooked properly and pork chop very dry as was the beef. Advertise a tomahawk steak, but not on platter. Some fries brown and soggy. Grilled vegetables were good. Coleslaw was slightly brown in colour, perhaps shredded earlier in the day and left out. Salads not dressed which I don't understand, but is the trend everywhere in Croatia. No serving utensils for the salad. Palacinke were fair. 197.10 EUR total bill and we did tip for good service. They are renovating in November the waiter told us. No toilet paper in ladies bathroom and floor was wet and very dirty. I did inform a lady at the bar about the toilet paper and she just looked at me. Sadly cannot recommend. If you do go I recommend daylight as no street lights leading you out of restaurant and no lights until you hit downtown Omis. I wish the new owners all the best and hope this review assists with coaching the staff that purchases meat and cooks it. We definitely will never return or recommend which is unfortunate as we eat out often for the summer months in Omis and...
Read moreI have been a guest at this location and in the nearby city of Omis for 20 years. I always look forward to visiting Radmanove mlinice, as I have had many great moments there. This time, it was the worst experience I have ever had eating here and in Omis.
The place has its magic, but you can read much about it elsewhere.
This year's restaurant crew is obviously bad. Despite the restaurant being 25% full, we have not received any attention for a long time.
Finally, when the waiter came, he was rude and was making faces when leaving our table (a single adult with two kids had ordered a fish plate, tomato soup, extra fries, beer, and water for kids, nothing to make faces about; the final bill was over 50 EUR). We received the food after a long delay, and the order was incorrect; I accepted it anyway as we were hungry). We have received no attention to order extra drinks or anything.
The food quality was below average compared to the usual Omis. It was done in the most basic way, with the fries being obviously frozen cheap brand.
I would accept that it is not always the best, but my boys have commented that it is the worst meal we have had during our stay there and that the staff was so rude that they never want to return.
I ignore other parts, such as the dirty wc - I already consider that to be part of the magic of the establishment.
I guess this team will be changed, as they were obviously really unhappy with providing the service. In two or three years, there will be a change, most likely...
Read moreIt was so great to visit Radmanove mlinice, the restaurant of my childhood. They switched owners, but still you can have delicious meal. Years ago, we would have eel brudet with polenta, a dish that doesn't exist anymore (hopefully they put it back).
Regarding eel, they only serve it grilled and you need to telephone 24 hours in advance for it (one of the three dishes that needs that). When I asked the waiter why is that, he only explained that it was not ordered as much, and it goes bad if not eaten in a day.
So I ordered my second favorite, which is frogs wrapped in pršut. They said that unfortunately they ran out of that, too. I ordered a traditional Dalmatian dish after that, called Pašticada.
One thing that is still absolutely amazing about this place is the bread baked under Peka. Try it, it is unbelievable.
The restaurant is reachable by road and by river (I much prefer this way). In the town of Omiš, you take a water cruise or rent a boat to drive by yourself and it takes you 30-60 minutes to get to Radmanove mlinice restaurant and you get to enjoy the beauty and the tranquility of the canyon that is breathtaking. You will notice a lot of people ziplining above.
We took the water taxi and only had one hour for the meal, and needed to hurry up, so next time we'll rent a boat for ourselves and go swimming on the way and enjoy a...
