First time we got there, service was great. The food was excellent and their wine as well. That is why we decided to reserve table one more time and we preordered octopus for six of us. When we got there and asked for our reservation, we noticed something was wrong. They tried to convince me that I ordered both table and octopus for two persons, which was not possible because we were six of friends all together everyday and there is no way that I made mistake. Then, they suggested table for us, but it was a table for 4 (which was btw reserved for someone else!). How in the world can 6 adults eat on a table that is already too small for four of them? Then, they told us to take that octopus for two so each of us could have what - one bite?! Overall, the food is great but I would never eat there again because of approach like that and such bad organisation. Obviously their only interest is money, neither their reputation nor pleasure of...

hands down one of my favourite dining experiences. Firstly, what a magical way to enter a restaurant past beautiful cobblestone streets, through a vineyard and sitting amongst the vines at a table overlooking the beautiful valley of Hvar. The food — some of the best on the island. I had the Gregada, a traditional Croatian dish, which blew me away. The bruschetta was amazing too. Wine made by the owner himself was fantastic. I’m saving the best till last because what really makes the space special is the homely and family atmosphere you’re welcomed in to when you dine here. We spoke to all members of the family. The owner came out to speak to us, as did his wife. One son was the chef — a lovely person to chat to who is clearly passionated about the island’s bountiful produce. Another one of his sons was one of the waiters all incredibly friendly and interested to talk to us and explain the ins and outs...

We made our reservation and pre-ordered octopus. Upon our arrival, it turned out that our reservation was missing and there won’t be able to prepare the dish for us.

Some 10 minutes later an elderly gentleman came who presented himself as the owner and confirmed our reservation on his paper (which was a back of a receipt) but apologised in a way of ‘whops my bad, forgot to forward it further’.

As it was late and given their location we couldn’t just go elsewhere so we stayed and ordered something else. In the end, after an hour, we finally got the food, but they haven’t even offered us a discount or complimentary desert to make up for it.

It looks like a family-ran business and the food was bad per se, but given the approach of the elderly gentleman I think it might be the time for the...

We came to this place after several recommendations and with very high expectations. From the moment we parked the car in the beautiful and authentic Pitve village we knew that it will be incredible experience. The host and the Owners welcomed us warmly and we ordered our food immediately after some local brandy that was just delicious. Our server Sandra was absolutely great. Sweet, attentive and professional. For our main me and my partner ordeded Grilled octopus ( ispod peke ) that has to be ordered day before. I was listening about that octopus from friends and family for years now and it absolutely did not disappoint. It was the best octopus I ever had. For dessert I had chocolate cake and it was amazing. All together, do me a favor please, if you are on Hvar go and visit this incredible place.

What a wonderful place. We visited the island of Hvar for 10 days and decided to venture out of the main towns for an evening. This restaurant was recommended to us by a local as having authentic Croatian cuisine, beautiful views and friendly staff... It definitely lived up to the expectation! We watched the sun set over the countryside as we ate beautiful home-cooked food (we pre-ordered the lamb peke earlier in the day as it has to be slow cooked). Definitely the best meal we had during our visit and it was cheaper than the likes of Hvar town and Stari Grad too! Upon chatting to the owners we discovered that it had been inherited from their grandparents. A family run hidden gem and you must try the rozada dessert!!
