Easily the best place we've eaten out in Croatia. Super friendly and relaxed atmosphere in a gorgeous setting. Absolute top quality food, the local meats and cheese were delicious, the octopus peka was huge and a new experience for us! We loved it! I wish I had room left to polish off the beautiful selection of miniature cakes/slices offered after dinner! The owner is so lovely and genuine, making us feel welcome and comfortable. This clearly rubbed off on all his guests, with everyone chatting, laughing and sharing travel tips with other tables. Superb local wine. And all excellent value. Cheaper than eating in the main towns, but better food and experience - and only a 5 minute drive from jelsa. I highly recommend calling up Konoba Vrisnik and booking yourself a table now. Oh wow! What a blast! We spend 3 nights on Hvar and have been to Konoba Vrisnik every night. It is easily one of the best Croatian-Mediterranean restaurants we have ever been to. Everything on the menue is divine - we had the octopus peka, steak with figs and sage, homemade gnocchi with prawns, the platter „Vrisnik“ for two and the cooked octopus. We cannot say what meal was the best. Everything had a very fine taste, nothing was too spicy, all meals were perfectly seasoned. They have homemade rakija in very interesting flavors: we recommend to try the fig and myrtle one. And in addition to that you sit in a beautiful garden surrounded by summer flowers. Top top top! Reviews are totally true. This place is amazing in so many ways - location in small village, property is like some Toscan villa, waiters are so serving, funny and polite (Matko thank you!), and food..food is the main reason you are gaining weight on your vacation 😂 we've preordered octopuss peka at the same time as our table resevation. And firstly we were sad that we didn't have enough time for starters but than that peka was more than enough and so soft and tasty and yum yum yum! Semifredo and cheesecake for dessert were also great. And white house wine also great. And the best of all, not pricy at all - total bill for two (peka, 2 desserts, 1l of wine) was just a little...
