Great Mountain B&B Platak — Restaurant in Općina Čavle

The place has it's pros and cons but overall a very nice place to stay overnight or even longer. The highlight is the restaurant with great food based on local cuisine served in generous portions. There is also a short but complete (weissbier, dark, lager) offer of beer. The staff is really polite and helpful. The balconies of the rooms look to the west so one can enjoy sunsets. On the downside, my room wasn't cleaned well. There are also many minor things that need improvement. But what is unacceptable is that for some reason there were lots of trash around the building, like there was a big party few nights ago and nobody cared to clean up the mess. I simply cannot recommend any food at Veliki dom Platak. Try to get some drinks there and go to eat somewhere else, if you want to enjoy what you are eating. All dishes we have tried remind me a low quality fast food. The worst was Gurmanska pljeskavica with a very tired rukkola decoration on the side. ||||||However , our waiter Antonio was very professional and efficient, despite the place was extremely busy and staff was overloaded with their work. This place is an absolute gem. For people who do not mind shared bahtrooms (which are newly renovated and spotless, by the way) or an older wooden feel of rooms more suited for a mountain lodge then a usual hotel, there is plenty to appreciate about it. It is located virtually on the baby ski slope and a small red slope. The food is fantastic, get the full board to enjoy typical croatian specialties.
