This place is amazing. The environment is so beautiful, with a lot of different trees and a beautiful lawn. Everything looks a bit rustic nut not overdone. If the weather allows it, they put the tables on the nice sleek lawn, which I never experienced before. For entrée we had a mixed cheese and salami plate with truffle cheese and some kind of long aged cheese and prosciutto and a beef salami. There were also some olives from their garden and homemade extra virgin olive oil, which was just delicious. Served with some really nice white bread. This was like 30kn per person. The main course was a slow cooked mix of octopus, potatoes, capers, olvies and a well balanced herb seasoning blend, all that in the same tasty olive oil. The octopust was melting inside our mouths. This meal is something I will remember my whole life and probably come back because of it:) This was 85kn per person with a minimum of 2 person to be able to order. The children had istrian traditional pasta with a simple tomato sauce which was a high quality one, probably made with organic tomatoes and olive oil. So simple but so tasty. This was about 30kn. We also had good red wine which was a blend of three different kinds of wine. The price was also acceptable. The service was extraordinary, especially compared to the usually unfriendly service on the croatian sea side. This place is a must-go if you are near Pula. Its worth every lipa and kuna you spend there. We loved it.
PS: 4 portions of octopus and 4 entrées with 3 juices, two big bottles of mineral water and 0.5L red wine and 2 portions of pasta was 774KN, which is maybe a bit pricey relative to the croatian standard but cheap as hell comparing to the exorbitant prices...
Read moreI short: dishes are hit and miss, Service is something I never experienced (in a bad way), read on for details
Ambient - surrounding area is looking quite nice, inside is decorated with style and has a posch look to it.
Food - hit and miss, some dishes were quite good, while others were disappointing and not sufficient in quantity.
Price / quality - on some dishes i did not mind paying the higher price, but some basic are greatly overpriced with what they offer.
Service - the biggest remark goes here. While we were looking at the menu and discussing what to get, waiter comes and says we need to order now, he will help us because we will otherwise stay there till midnight (it was 20h). he stood right next to us as waited till we stumbled and made our choice. when we were then choosing a dish he kept rushing us and telling us that things we ordered will be enough. in retrospective we should have asked him to give us privacy or we leave, but I was simply shocked, never experienced something like that.
will not go there again and would not recommend...
Read moreThis place is amazing. The food is delicious with a rustic and locally sourced menu, and a wonderful atmosphere it is a local gem. There is a huge open fire in the middle of the restaurant that they grill the meat and fish on. The staff are excellent and they are very helpful and friendly.
The rooms are immaculate, they have excellent facilities, are cleaned daily and extremely comfortable. Each room leads on to a small outside terrace where you can drink your wine and watch the sun set over the sea. There is also a pool at this place- although i didn't have the opportunity to use it the area looked beautiful and as with everywhere on the premises it was immaculately kept.
On arrival in Valbadon we asked for restaurant recommendations from the taxi driver and others we met and Alla Beccaccia consistently came up as the best local restaurant. 5*, would...
