We had such high hopes for this place, buoyed by all the good reviews we saw here, but the food was really comically bad. The waitress was very sweet, but she told us that the tuna in the tuna burger was like that in the filet. When it arrived, it was the thinnest slice of tuna we had ever seen and not at all substantial enough for a "burger". The oysters tasted fine, but were definitely not of the same quality you find at neighboring restaurants. The octopus salad says it was from Adriatic octopus, but it definitely did not seem fresh. The tomatoes were broken down from sitting in the dressing too long, and while we were laughing about there being only a single caper in the bowl, we found a black object that turned out to be a fly, which had clearly been in there for some time as it was all glazed over with oil. The waitress kindly didn't charge us for the salad, but in general, we were shocked that such terrible quality is getting so much praise here. Please don't risk a bad meal when there are so many amazing meals to be...
Read moreWe didn’t even make it past the door, so I can’t speak to the food. What I can comment on is the unacceptable treatment we received from the staff. Our adult children went in a few minutes ahead of us to check if a table was available for our party of nine. While waiting, one of my children needed to use the restroom. While my 20-year-old daughter was inside, a staff member tried to force the door open. He then physically removed my 13-year-old from the restaurant. When I arrived shortly after to explain our brief delay, the same staff member yelled at me, saying this was “not a place to use the toilet but to eat.” I clarified that we were there to dine, but he continued to be rude and made both children feel unsafe. This was a disturbing and unprofessional experience that left us feeling completely unwelcome. We left and chose another nearby restaurant instead (natura ston) and the contrast could not have been greater. The staff there were warm, respectful, and made our dining experience...
Read moreFantastic place with a magic garden and view at the town main square. It's localised at Ston town hall. The owner was very helpful and engaged us in a long discussion about the food, local specialities and places to visit at Peljesac peninsula. We ordered an amazing home-made tuna paste sandwich for a starter which was served with sardines. For the main dish we ordered a delicious octopuss burger with fries and onion rings and a plate of fried squids and baby octopuss with potato salad (served in German style - cold with onion). The owner offered us a bunch of grapes and mandarines from the old local farmer which were absolutely great. It's a higher level of fruit quality. The place has a nice modern look and a well-thought visual identity (logo, signs, colors, font). Prices are very decent (cheaper than in restaurants/konobas), you can pay with a credit card (not so obvious in Croatia), food is great and portions big and the place...
