Ayia Anna Tavern — Restaurant in Agia Anna

It is easy to fall in love with the tavern and the owner. The food is superb, and so is the atmosphere!

We ordered mezes which cost €22 per person, but that includes a lot of dips, starters, soup, pasta, a variety of mains and a selection of desserts, tea and coffee. You also get a free shot of local strong spirit or wine. The food is traditional Cypriot and very high quality! There are a lot of vegetarian dishes in the meze, so someone who does not eat meat will not go hungry.

The red wine is made in the house and it is sweet and aromatic. It comes in a big clay jar and costs only €16. Everyone loved it. Their house white wine also comes in a jar and costs only €14. I think it is at least 0.75 litre.

Ever single dish in the meze was tasty, especially the dolmades, salad, soup and all the different kinds of meat. They also bring you nuts to enjoy with your drinks. We were all very pampered! The owner is delightful, and gave us all souvenirs to take home.

The live music was greek and people were dancing! The place is very clean and there is a lot of space to mingle and dance. The walls are made the old way from stone and plinths, which adds to the atmosphere. Parking is free!

Simply.... WOW! This has to be one of the very best meals I have had in a restaurant in my life. The food doesn't look like much from the pictures, but the taste was simply amazing. Every dish was cooked on site, and they even produced their own wine. The staff were perfect 100% you couldn't fault them at all. We sat outside on the terrace, with live music all night. This is where the locals go. It's about a 25 min drive out of Larnca halfway up a mountain, a lot cooler than in the city. The food just kept on coming, I tried every dish, including desserts that were help yourself, and to finish the evening off, you make your own coffee the traditional way in hot sand. If you want to meet the original cypriot cuizine you have to come here!!!! The people here are locals and it is obvious, of course they are extra hospitable!!! The atmosphere is unique as it is full of local memorabilia!!! Now the most important part which is the food is the reason you will eat more tham ever. Yummy and delicious is the least I can say!!!!
