Lizas Place — Restaurant in Argaka

I didn’t want to write many restaurant reviews on this trip, but for Liza, I had to make an exception. The food was so awful! Absolutely disgusting. The vegetable dish was an oil soaked pulp of indistinguishable plant matter. The black olives were dry, wrinkly balls with the lovely taste of pure salt.

The highlight were the scampi, though. They had breadcrumb coating and looked like chicken nuggets with a scampi tail attached to them. When we pointed out their… unusual… consistency, the waiter (a nice old guy, maybe founder and/or owner) took one of the strange scampi-nuggets and bent it furiously up and down in his hands, saying: “Look! Good quality! Good quality!”. We had no idea that the quality of seafood can be measured by its elasticity… Anyway, the weird act ended with the gentleman suddenly shoving the rubber-scampi-nugget in his mouth and grinning.

I’d really like to say something good about this joint, but apart from some fruit, that the gentleman gave us when we were hastily leaving in horror, there really is nothing to say. We would most certainly never ever go back to this...

Great location, Lynn and Jim are a lovely couple and deserve every success going forward.

The menu is varied but not overwhelming with a good selection of traditional meals and English dishes.

We ate there several times, the Sunday roast is exceptional. I had the burger on our last night and it was superb.

Pricing is very reasonable compared to some of the other bars etc nearby.

We found the place to be spotlessly clean and extremely well maintained.

Lynn went out of her way to accommodate us and even let us use the restaurant to drop our cases on the last day.

We were also given excellent advice on the surrounding area and some great tips to make our stay at Argaka even more relaxing and enjoyable.

While on my holidays I have eaten in Lisa's not once. The restaurant is exceptional! The food was delicious especially their mousaka and lava cake. The price of food was very reasonable for the quality and quantity. The staff at Lisa's were super friendly and the customers satisfaction was their priority. The atmosphe was peaceful and positive while sitting under the growing grapes. The restaurant, food and the staff made you feel at home. I would definitely recommended this restaurant to anyone that will be in the area if you want to eat delicious food at a good price and feel very welcome. It deserves the five...
