ATTACKED ON A JET SKI AT THE BEACH…

I have been in Cyprus for 3 years and have been to Loof Beach multiple times. I have driven the jet ski more than once. So yesterday, 21/08/2024, I decided to go again in the afternoon. Upon arriving, I bought a cocktail and headed to the jet ski area. I paid for 10 minutes, but since no jet ski was available at that moment, they told me to wait. I decided to use that time to take a little swim. I had my jewelry on (just my stud earrings). Shortly after I started swimming, one of the attendants called me to take my jet ski, so I immediately got out of the water and went to get my life jacket. After that, I followed the attendant to the jet ski.

When I got on the jet ski, I drove for a couple of seconds, but it shut off. I started it again, and after a few seconds, it shut off once more. I wasn’t far from the shore, so I immediately saw the attendant on another jet ski beside me. He jumped into the water and approached me with so much hostility, shouting that I should get off the jet ski and take my phone because he had my iPhone 14 Pro Max, which I had given him before getting on the jet ski. The jet ski was already off and parked, so I took my phone and asked him why the jet ski kept turning off. Suddenly, I saw him raise his fist, trying to punch me. In an attempt to de-escalate the situation, I started making a video. I’m right-handed, and he was on the left side while I was sitting on the parked jet ski. While I was scrolling on my phone to start the video, I felt a heavy punch on my left ear. He attacked me right there in the water, punching my left ear as hard as he could. My stud earrings damaged my ear even more. It all happened so fast, and he dragged me into the water. While he was dragging me, my phone fell into the water as well. I crouched to look for my phone, and while I was doing this, he kept hitting me. Fortunately, I was able to find my phone quickly in the water. I immediately stood up and went ashore.

When I got to the shore, I saw him coming at me again with so much hostility. I was already bleeding from the left side of my face (my ear and my mouth). When I saw him coming, I had to put up a defense this time. A number of other people were around us. I felt a few more hits from somewhere, but I’m really tough. I’m a sportsman—my father was a sportsman too—so it would take a lot more than that to put me down. I gave him a single punch back, and he stopped attacking me. Suddenly, everyone just left, but I stayed because another attendant there said he had called the police. But I waited, and the police never showed up. He then told me that the police weren’t coming, so I had to call my taxi to come pick me up. After that, we went to the hospital, and I had multiple stitches on my ear and lips. Today was the second day of the Bayram holidays and I decided to make the second visit to Loof Beach from Lefkosa. Today at around 1pm me and my two friends requested sunbeds and the guys at the beach (who usually help and locate you a bed) were to hot and couldn’t be bothered to help and had terrible customer service so I decided to use the Belediye beds on the far right hand side. Being busy and the weather being hot does not give the staff any right to be unhelpful or rude at the end of the day it’s not free!! I decided to share my complaint to the owner he decided to not even hear me out, cut into my conversation and could not give a damn as a regular that his staff was rude and not helpful on top of all that his body language, gestures and face impressions were so disgustingly terrible!!! Be warned if you are using card to pay for anything at the beach bar! I was going to give this experience a 3 star rating till I noticed separate sneaky charges added the next day on my statement. WTH! Food wise very mediocre fast food, ok mango chiller. Building is really tired. The toilets doors are so rusted they look like you can catch Tetnus if you scratch yourself and not forgetting the wet dog like stench. The beach was full of cigarette butts with no attempt to clean up even though the guys who do the sun beds have more than enough time on their hands. Price of two sunbeds and “VIP” shade 400tl total. Music from the beach bar can get irritating if it’s not to your taste and even worse when it clashes with the music played by those who bring their own speaker. The walk out to sea is super shallow. It was quite a windy day when we came so it was full of seaweed. But nice for a dip. We spent a good few hours here to make the most of the sun but I wouldn’t...
