Went for lunch to this restaurant 2 days ago, which we had visited high season last year and thoroughly enjoyed so wanted to return. Well, what a waste of money. Very disappointing. Only a small part of the restaurant was open and there was building work going on nearby that end so noisy. Service had a lot to be desired but worse of all, the food was bland and modest in portion. My grilled Octopus was flavourless, literally grilled and sprinkled with coriander. Husbands seabass was small. Served with a tiny bowl of French fries between us. If you want to have a 'perfect day' in Northern Cyrprus, Altın Koy Beach and Restaurant is the ultimater choice. Located in a small hidden bay on the eastern side of Kyrenia, it is not a busy but not toally quiet wonderful beach and complex. If you like sea sports, it is all available. There is a cafe which serves a full menu during the day and once comes the evening, a wonderful fish restaurant starts to welcome. The food is almost perfect and the prices are reasonable. Lovely filling food great portions in the set menu lots of variety not a great deal of vegetarian options which is expected in a fish restaurant but helim and chips is not enough they could grill some vegetables too? My biggest complaint is the table of men sitting across from us smoking the entire time we had our meal even though we sat in the NON SMOKING AREA. The manager didn’t seem to care and our evening was ruined by the foul smell of tobacco whilst we tried to eat our food....
