Unfortunately I had food poisoning in this restaurant 3 days ago and it's completely ruined my holiday. We came as family of 4, 2 kids and 2 adults. I've read beautiful reviews on here before choosing this restaurant. Everything was good, service and prices but in 3-4 hours after food (I have ordered Calamari dish as i have asked waitresses personal opinion which dish she like he best and she recommended this Calamari in comparison to Prawns) I started feeling very sick and bloated and after few more hours I was extremely sick and not well. I thought what I eat before in the morning but all of us eat the same and I was feeling fine after breakfast. We came around 4 pm to this place and I was the only one who had calamari. Kids and hubby had chicken souvlaki. I like sea food and always order it while abroad but I never ever had so much sickness before... it must of been calamari as I didn't eat much potato, just salad. It's very very sad that the rest of the holiday I've spent in bed eating nothing.. Please be careful and ask before ordering, however I can't believe that chef cooked expired or not fresh calamari for me... you definitely don't want to feel like me when...
Read moreWe come here every single year – and every time, it feels like coming home. Elisabeth Taverna isn’t just a restaurant; it’s a true piece of Cyprus – full of heart, flavor, and genuine hospitality.
The food is, of course, absolutely fantastic – fresh, homemade, and authentically Cypriot, just the way it should be. But what really makes this place stand out is the service. The two servers are simply amazing – so friendly, attentive, and genuine that you instantly feel like you’re dining among friends. Every detail is taken care of with warmth and care; you can tell they truly love what they do. ❤️
And then there’s the location – absolutely perfect. You can sit and enjoy a breathtaking sunset, a great drink in hand, delicious food on your plate, and the sound of the sea in the background. It’s one of those moments where you think: This is what vacation is all about.
A place with soul, charm, and real Cypriot heart. An absolute must-visit – our highlight every...
Read moreWe came for dinner without booking and were allocated a table inside (it seemed like the tables outside had been booked in advance).
My mum and I are vegan and asked about vegan dishes (even though there are allergens listed on the menu, the vegan options are a bit unclear), and the waitress was very accommodating. We had gemista and briam to share, plus garlic bread and fava to start. The house wine is from Kolios Wines which is a vegan winery and it was lovely. My boyfriend (not vegan) had the prawn saganaki and the tirokefteri which he said was very tasty.
The service was very friendly and we really liked the decor.
One comment was the fact that there was no background music which would've added to the atmosphere (not sure if that's usual or just the night we went!) It also didn't seem like there was an allocated smoking area so we did smell the smoke from some people...
