Undoubtedly the best souvla I have ever tasted.

The place is idyllic and most of the tables have a great view below the seashore, the sea and the tiny island opposite.

Please take light jackets or footers with you, as although it may be hot, sitting underneath the grape trees on the shade, the cool breeze may be too cool for you.

The staff is very friendly and polite.

You need to book in advance as most of the days they are fully booked. They are closed on Mondays.

The prices are astonishing low.

When I went there with my wife, we may have been the only locals.

This is an exception of the rule to dine where the locals dine at restaurants!

I could tell this fully packed taverna kept everyone happy with the excellent food, the view, the service and the cost.

Their menu is simple. Pork & chicken souvla as standard and lamb or goat souvla, as optional if you order minimum 3 portions.

We were so delighted with the souvla that we ordered as takeaway another 2 portions.

Along with the souvla they serve the best fried potatoes you have ever tried and real village salad.

Simple menu but so popular and attractive to all people eating there.

By the way souvla, is big chunks of meat, grilled over real wood charcoal. The meat is skewed and rotated over the charcoal for at least 2 hours, grilling slowly in order the meat to be tender, moist and tasty.

Enjoy it!

I recommend it without any hesitation.

Just to warn you the last 2 kilometres if the road going there is not asphalt, so you have to drive carefully and slowly.

The fact that this venue is situated in a virgin area, protected by law and is included in the Natura area, is a reason by itself to go there.

Don't worry there is very good reception of...

Sat on top of a hill on the way to Avakas Gorge this restaurant has some wonderful views although to get a table at the edge with views you really have to book to make sure. Something we learnt as we were ushered away and to the back in the corner. It didnt matter as we'd taken the obligatory tourist photo already. The waiter came and gave us our options, set menu for 12€ with barbecued pork or chicken or both along with chunky chips and garden salad. The wine flowed and the large Keo beer was very welcome after the 2 hour trek through the Avakas Gorge. It was nice just to sit, enjoy the cold beer with the soft breeze under the vines. After a while the food arrived and we weren't disappointed. A tray filled with barbecued pork and chicken, a fresh salad with tomatoes and cucumber, bread and a plate full of chunkily cut chips which after tasting had been perfectly fried, soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. The meat was perfect, the chicken with a wonderfully smoked taste and the pork with blackened outer and salty, juicy, more fatty meat inside. After a week on the island it was also decided that the salad was also the best that we have had. All in all the best, most authentic cypriot meal of our whole stay and something that will stay with us. Definitely...

Great location, really amazing both the restaurant and the views. Food is good and portions are abundant. Price is fair too, so nothing to complain about that really. We got there with big expectations but the staff running the place was kinda rude with us, don't know if it was because of the busy day or they just don't like a table being occupied by just 2 people. One of the waitresses looked clearly unhappy about us asking questions whether they had some desserts, espresso coffee or some digestives to end the meal properly. Instead of a no sorry, we got a very annoyed "no no no" and she just turned her back and walked away. They have Cyprus coffee though, which is good, pity it came nearly half an hour after we ordered it and it was nearly cold. To pay the bill we had to stand up ready to go to get noticed by someone since no one cared to look at us anymore (and we did ask for the bill twice already). I also found it quite rude to be asked if I wanted to add a tip to the payment, which I did cause I didn't want to be rude, but it's a pushy behaviour which I never appreciate anywhere in the world. It never happened to us anywhere before in Cyprus, so that sums up to the staff behaviour during the lunch. Really a shame and a pity, since the place itself is...

Unique place, beautiful views, great BBQ food traditionally cooked on wood fired rotisserie. Rough entry road or difficult walk, but worth it for the experience. Definitely a must visit.

Also known as The Last Castle. This was a lovely place to eat although don't expect a menu - it's pork, chicken, stonkingly large chips and salad; that said you really don't need to worry (unless you're a vegetarian/vegan) as the food was fantastic. The cost was value for money and the setting, looking out over the coast and the beach below was stunning. You sit under well established vines which just adds to the atmosphere and you're not in direct sunlight. The one thing I will say which added to the excitement was the journey to it - the last 1.5km is basically off road with some steep drops on one side and some interesting climbs in the motor - that said all cars can get there (we had a seven seater Toyota minivan and I saw a BMW and other motors pull up) but you just need to take it slow, or you can hire a beech buggy from a local place and use that instead. This is a very family orientated restaurant with the owners kids and extended family wandering about which made it even better (we have kids) but, for those that think this is a turn off, don't worry as they weren't loud and just wandered around with a cheeky smile. Last piece of advice - Book in advance otherwise you won't get seated
