Unfortunately our dinner at Eagle's nest was disappointing over all.
No vegan options beside sides, 4 vegetarian options. Nothing gluten free. So it is not inclusive to any dietary restrictions. Wouldn't be a big deal if the service would have been nice. Unfortunately the waiters were extremely pushy, trying to convince us to buy another drink, or a starter or a dessert when not everyone wanted one. I know there are cultural differences and for example asking all the time if everything is fine is appreciated at some culture, while I find it annoying - but this "service" was not just asking all the time, it was way more pushy und even unfriendly sometimes. You could feel how they wanted to squeeze every penny out of you. It was ment as a joke (i guess) but one waiter almost bullied one on our table, because she just wanted water to drink and nothing more. Really tryed to push some other drink onto her and mocked her for only drinking water, said she is not his friend now anymore. We all knew it was not meant in a mean way, but still is that good service? Destroyed the otherwise pretty atmosphere.
The view tho : stunning. The restaurant has such a pretty vibe and looks amazing. There was live music as well, with a very talented singer. I really wish that wouldn't be the only good thing. The Food was ok, it was fine - but verrrry small portions. We went to another place nearby afterwards because we were still hungry.
So to sum it up: very pushy service, not dietary restriction inclusive, pricy for good but small portions and on the good side a very pretty location and restaurant.
PS: I heard the owner recently changed, maybe he needs to find his groove, because like that I fear he will not stay long. I wish the best...
Read moreLast night we went to a food and wine pairing evening at Eagle’s Nest. The whole evening was just fabulous. It was a six course menu plus a lemon sorbet between the chicken and duck courses. The menu was well thought out with interesting tastes and the presentation was beautiful. The courses were well spaced and each came out hot (and were served on hot plates). I take my hat off to Kadir the chef. The introduction of each wine was concise and interesting - highlighting the characteristics of the wine and how it might be expected to complement the food. We had excellent service from the team of staff. They were attentive but not intrusive. If you ever have a chance to do the Eagle’s Nest food and wine pairing I highly recommend it. Seven courses and six glasses of wine for GBP 45 was excellent value.

Read moreWe visit Cyprus every year for a decade now. Beginning our 3 week holiday we've decided to revisit this place we've visited a couple years ago. After having a plentiful lunch and a cocktail evening last night we wanted to have some drinks and a salad before our appointment elsewhere. The staff forbid us to sit inside ( best practice that they use placing tourists on spots where the place looks crowded and they can lure in more ). The waiter realized 10 minutes after taking our order that they do not have cold big bottled mineral water. After 30 minutes we asked what's with our order is. The waiter assured us it will be ready in 5 minutes tops. It was suddenly ready in 17 minutes after I went paying for the drinks. They we're of course terribly sorry but they could serve the 2 other tables who come after us with ease. It was not full house... If You want a nice experience check out the view but if You want to save Yourself from such disappointing service give Your money someone else who knows that running a restaurant does include organisational skills not just advertising during serving how they are top restaurant in the region. I believe it's not much to ask for a top restaurant to be able to serve a salad and chips under 47 minutes while having only 5...
