We spent our 11th wedding anniversary at Minthis Spa, where 6 hour stays are booked. After 3 hours we wanted to eat something. The lady at reception said there was no option in the spa, but kindly directed us to the restaurant outside.
Somewhat surprised, we went to the restaurant on her recommendation, which was completely empty, and asked for a table for two. The manager approached, looked us up and down condescendingly and made a stupid comment about our sandals (yes, we were dressed for a spa day and not for a dinner). He said, 'It's all booked up here, guests are coming in an hour. You have one hour and then get out!'
We thought we weren't hearing right. I can understand that it's not the dress code he expects. But then Minthis should be completely rethought as an overall concept. With a 6 hour stay and the high price you pay for the Spa, there needs to be a way to get food WITHOUT being treated completely disrespectfully and with such arrogance.
This was our first and last visit although the 3 hours in the Spa were wonderful. Too bad, because the design and the view, the nature is beautiful! But I can't recommend this...
Read moreSuper rude manager, it’s beyond disrespecting talking to your customers the way he did. We came for the dinner as no one welcomed us(I guess it’s because we didn’t use the main entrance as we were coming from the spa) we took first available table, he came and straight away started asking questions with a very rude intonation. After which he told us they are fully booked all though only two tables were busy at the moment. We wanted to have a quick dinner, so I asked the hostess to check if they have a table just for one hour, which would be enough for us to eat and go.I want to thank the hostess that tried to provide us with a solution as we didn’t have the reservation, she told us that we can get a table, for what this man started to show with his hands not to give us a table, for this kind of place I think it’s not acceptable to treat the guests like that, I understand overbooking and that guests of the hotel should be the priority, but the way we were treated shouldn’t...
Read moreA beautiful restaurant with stunning views set within the amazing 5* Minthis resort 15 minutes drive from Paphos central.
Try and get an outside table on the balcony area as that's where the best views are to be seen. Service is exemplary, and the prices are definitely what you would expect in a 5* resort, so do not expect to pay less than €40 per head if you don't drink too much vino.
The menu is changed regularly and is mainly a Greek fusion type of deal, so if you are looking for standard Cypriot menu options, look elsewhere.
Here, they serve a really lovely smaller menu using seasonal ingredients put together by a chef that really knows his business. The Snapper was incredible, apparently.
They serve a choice of reasonably priced options for the kids, like pizza, for instance, all the way to very expensive (for Cyprus) kobe steak. All is in your hands as they say.
Take a look at the wine list as this is among the best I have seen anywhere in Cyprus.
Highly...
