This very traditional Greek taverna is one of 2 in Tsada. Its basic regarding furnishings, the grape vine above is now full of grapes & makes a great canopy , the taverna has a partial view down the valley towards the sea. We were seated but had to wait a while to be served. We were in no hurry so that didn't bother us. We chose to have a carafe of House Red wine , it was very nice. We chose a few starters, the usual hummus and tzatiki and something we've never had...courgette with egg....delicious. Mains predictably my husband went for the T-bone steak...little over cooked but he enjoyed it. I had the Afelia ( pork in red wine with herbs) with couscous , absolutely delicious the couscous was tomato flavoured and quite lovely, the Afelia was soft and quite wonderful...simple food but as it should be. I've eaten moussaka here before and that too was delicious. The waiter was a lovely man . The place filled up with Cypriots...if the natives dine somewhere, you know its good food. Very...
Read moreHaving moved to nearby Tsada recently, I wanted to try something new. I was advised to try this place. Closed on Mondays but being a Tuesday, I called, was greeted on the phone by a gentleman who spoke English, he taken the details of how I'd like my kebab, me being the boring soul I am, I had onion and cucumber.. not keen on anything else .
I left mine, arrived there. Staff all lovely, didn't make me feel strange for being the inquisitive individual I am.... They had old farming equipment, fish tank and random pretty cool stuff... Food arrived, money paid. The combo of chicken, onion and cucumber I can smell during the short drive back. Finally got home to devour the beautiful contents of the pitta. It was 10/10, the pitta was loaded throughout with chunks of grilled tasty chicken.
I will definitely be back for a takeaway and possible a sit down...
Read moreIt’s been a long time ago since we came here for the first time. Then we’ve popped in for a dinner in this taverna. Now it’s a place where we are going to have a family meal, bringing our guests and meeting with friends when we want a proper dinner.
Pavlos, the owner of the taverna, works every day and he is welcoming every client. The quality of the food is absolutely perfect. Portions are huge and a small meze or a portion of vegetarian grill can “kill” your hunger easily. Whatever you order will be freshly prepared.
This place is open during the whole year for lunch and dinner. During winter they are open on Fri-Sun. And it’s better to make reservation. The place is very popular! Greek, English, Russian speaking staff. Thank you guys for all the joy...
