Pivovar Chalupnik - restaurace, ubytování — Restaurant in okres Chomutov

DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU'RE NOT CZECH!!!

The service staff is massively understaffed and unfriendly to the guests. They only speak Czech and - if you're lucky - very broken German. English was not even an option beyond "yes" and "no".

It's incredible that the waitress told us (two German women) that there was no homemade lemonade available, but the 2 clearly Czech couples who came into the restaurant 10 minutes after us got 4 large lemonades. Well, nationalism at its finest!!

My friend said that it was possible they ordered before we did and just waited for a place to sit down, but honestly ... I don't think so. There were still enough seats left.

Ouh!! They also got their dishes far earlier then we did. They finished their meals before ours even arrived and we were already waiting 45 minutes or even more.

I'm writing this recission while waiting. I mean, I have enough time to write a novel right now ...

The Czech guests are leaving now after paying for their meals ... ... ... and we're still waiting ...

Finally, almost an hour after we ordered we got our meals. They were more "okay" than really tasty aaand my friend had to pay extra for some sauce.

Guys, go somewhere else! I DO NOT recommend...

EDITED AFTER MY SECOND VISIT: Okay, as you can see below, my first visit was great. BUT... three months later... We (three of us) got there on a nice summer weekend day, the place was half full (or less), and when the waitress came to our table, she told us that if we wanted food it would take an hour and a half. Oh. We were not in a big hurry, but we didn't have THAT much time to waste. They also wouldn't serve us anything that was already cooked and ready, because that wouldn't be fair to people who had ordered regular meals. We had a beer and got the hell out of there. SO, here's the original review: I came here four years ago from California, and I don't often order burgers in the Czech Republic. THAT burger may be the best one I've had. Anywhere. Great spot, great beer that's brewed on the premises, reasonable prices, good food and quick service. Set on the side of perstejn and with a land mark chimney stack that is visible as you drive in off the main highway. It has a patio / viewing deck that looks out across the small town itself. In summer it gets quite busy with cyclists dropping in for a beer and lunch. Across the the narrow road is a pond where you can sit and feed the local ducks who don't go anywhere because they are constantly fed. And up on the hill behind pivovar, set in amongst the pine trees but not visible is the ruins of an old castle that is well worth the climb and that you need to be reasonably fit for as the track up is quite step in places. It's a beautiful walk with views. The castle was built around 1120! The menu is in Czech and German but not in English. Parking is tight though. A great spot in...
