Moesgård Forest Mill — Restaurant in Aarhus Municipality

Totally nonchalant and slow service. We had booked a table and when we arrived we had to wait at least 20 min without anyone coming by to offer us a menu or removing the glasses and dirty tissues from the previous guests. We then resolved to find one of the staff members and ask them to please do it. The girl who did it then came and did it but looked grumpy and didn’t apologise. The food took a long time to arrive, and when it came they tried to give it to the table next to us, they didn’t even remember who had ordered it! I asked the girl for the Wi-Fi password but all the passwords she said were wrong and then she just said that she didn’t know, she didn’t even care to ask anyone else. Not even once did anyone come by to check on us or ask how we liked the food or needed anything. It was also impossible to get eye contact with any of the workers so even when we wanted to bill we had to chase them all over the restaurant to ask for it. Needless to say we didn’t feel at all welcome or cared for which is a huge pity because the place is located in such a beautiful area and the food was not bad. Moesgård Forest Mill (Restaurant Skovmøllen)

In September my wife and I hosted a pre party to our wedding at Skovmøllen and it was a dream. The setting in itself is something out of a fairytale so we knew this was a perfect location to have a few cocktails and dinner.

We worked with Jens and Ann Cathrin for the planning of how we wanted the day and they delivered. We arrived mid afternoon to a large selection of drinks. Wine, beer and champagne were all delicious. It rained for a little while (what is Denmark without a little rain?) and moved inside for dinner.

The dinner: 10/10 Absolutely delicious.

Overall the vibes at Skovmøllen are to die for. The beauty of their restaurant and location are second to none.

Fantastic culinary experience in historic setting just a few minutes outside of Aarhus! We were lucky enough to visit this restaurant on a Friday for lunch. We had a larger party so the food (traditional Danish with a modern twist) was served family style. The quality of ingredients are outstanding - local, seasonally appropriate and prepared in a way that is just too notch. Everything from presentation to taste was excellent. The whole experience was next level - absolutely recommend to anyone who wants to experience great quality Scandinavian cooking in a beautiful atmosphere.
