OK-ish food, but overall very poor experience.

We were here for dinner last night, and things started out weird right away. We had booked a table for five adults and two very small children (in those exact words, but in Danish), but the table was set for seven adults. No kids' chairs were available. The staff managed to find some cushions and blankets for the oldest child (about a year and 3 months) to sit on, but the youngest (about 7 months) had to sit on my lap through the dinner.

The menu was made up of hearty food - not a very big selection but a nice enough selection of dishes. Some of us had the steak with bernaise sauce and some the roast chicken with gravy. The sauce and gravy were really quite tasty (but the bearnaise was a bit to thick), the chicken was all right but perhaps a little bland. The steaks were ordered to all be medium, but somehow differed enormously in doneness. The meat taste was good. My own steak was perfectly medium and since I was hungry I forgot to check the others until a while in. One was definitely rare, not even medium rare. Should have probably sent the two others back. We also ordered a pasta with tomato sauce for the kids to share (on account of the youngest not being quite able to chew everything yet). The pasta was grossly undercooked, about a minute or two before al dente. That one we did send back because the kids could not have eaten it. We got another one which was better, but could still have been cooked more for such small kids. The tomato sauce tasted good, though.

The real downer, which should, in hindsight, have made us just leave, was when we were about to order. Firstly, the order was not taken at the table, but at the bar counter. It was also paid for in advance. This was quite odd for an actual restaurant, but we though fine, let's roll with it.

What should have made us leave was that what I think was the head chef was very rudely telling the waitress at the bar off for accepting orders that he said that they didn't have food for, because they had a large booking that night. He was doing it very loudly and in front of us and a few more customers waiting to order, causing a delay in orders and an obviously very embarassing situation for the waitress. He was very degrading. I am fairly sure that she was not to blame for not ordering enough supplies for the evening, and certainly such a display is extremely unprofessional from the chef's side. I do regret not speaking up. It seemed like they were expecting a large company later that evening, but that really is no excuse at all to behave in that way.

None of us will be coming back again. My grandfather, who had happily been here several times in the past under previous owners, was very disappointed, and so were the rest of us. Dealing with food which is not really up to par is one thing, but such unprofessionalism from the chef's side I have probably never seen anywhere...

Unfortunately didn’t meet my expectations which actually were lowered due to new ownership of the restaurant. You had to order in the bar You had to pay in advance Two of the ingredients (one of them being the main ingredient; the fish) were degraded to cheaper versions, while the price remained the same All in all more like a café, but the food was good and so was...

Beautiful and heartfelt krog, breathtaking floorboards and ambience of authenticity. Food was great and tasted like there was effort put into each step. Though great overall experience, it felt a little pricey, and for example, with a pot of coffee having a price per cup rather than per pot, and tap water costing 25dkk, it left a little annoyance after an otherwise...

Out in the wood there is a hidden gemstone! This place is absolutely worthwhile visiting! The food is Michelin quality and the atmosphere is so accommodating and warm. The chef himself is presents the food and share how he’d prepared the explosions of tastes. All details down to a welcome gift is so beautiful. A must try place to visit!
