Fine dining restaurant. So no big plates. Not inexpensive. True, but worth the price in my experience for 2.5 hours of the probably most spectacular view in town and several courses of well prepared food and drinks. Medium rare fried steak was super delicious. I couldn’t stop eating the french fries with morels in béchamels. The Chardonay (Bellevaux Reserve) and Bordeaux (Chateau Puy-Razac) were pretty much to my liking. The recommended Stauning Smoke (danish whisky) was astoundingly good. Mainly young staff. Very friendly and pleasant.

Rigtig fint lokale på 17.etage med fin udsigt, hvis man altså havde en plads ved vinduerne. Vi sad vel nærmest i baren længst væk fra udsigten. Maden smagte rigtig fint, dog var der rigeligt med sener i Ribeye, der iøvrigt ikke lige var en 250 grams bøf. Salaten til Ribeye skal der vist arbejdes lidt mere med…. Arbejd også lige lidt med farverne i retterne, så retterne ikke lige ligner noget fra DDR. 🤔 Portion størrelse er altså temmelig (nærmest fornærmende...se billeder) små. Jeg arbejdede i min ungdom på det hedengangne Restaurant Bourgogne i Skolegade, Esbjerg. Og hvor vi kom rundt til gæsterne, og spurgte om de var blevet mætte eller om der var plads til en lille portion ekstra, uden beregning vel at bemærke 🙂 Det kunne kunderne sørme godt lide… Men efter en tur på Plates må man lige hjem, og have et par stykker rugbrød 🙂 Så er der lige det med ventetiden på maden.....det var et marathon af en tilberedning...der gik over 1 time fra forretten var taget af bordet til hovedretten kom.…. Og der vil jeg dog lige sige, at det var god service, at tjeneren kom med ekstra drikkevarer til ventetiden, da vi rykkede på hovedretten. Vi var ikke de eneste, der var utålmodige. Der var 3 borde omkring vores, der virkelig var trætte af ventetiden. Et af bordene havde fat i chefen, for at forlange ikke at betale for maden. Det kunne jeg dog ikke lige få mig selv til at forlange… Et andet af bordene jokede med om kokken var stukket af 🙂 Konklusion god udsigt, fint lokale, god smag i mad, men for små portioner og laaaang ventetid. Værdi for pengene er ikke opfyldt.

Great restaurant with a really nice view. We had the social experience menu and the dishes were great, packed with flavour and tasted really good. The service was great and the staff really nice. The prices were very reasonable. I would recommend this place to others. I do have to say that I also had breakfast here, and it wasn't that good, I would not recommend getting the breakfast here unless already included.

Perfectly placed at the top of the hotel with stunning views over the harbour and offshore.

I had the pleasure of dining at Plates Restaurant, and I can confidently say it was an exceptional experience. From the moment we walked in, the staff greeted us warmly and made us feel right at home. Their attentiveness throughout the meal was top-notch, striking the perfect balance between being helpful and unobtrusive.

Now, the food—wow! Every dish was a masterpiece. The flavors were fresh and vibrant, and the presentation was absolutely beautiful. It's clear the chefs take immense pride in their craft. Whether you're in the mood for a hearty dish or something light and flavorful, the menu has something for everyone.

I highly recommend Plates to anyone looking for excellent food and outstanding service. I'll definitely...

Brunch did not met my expectations. Selection of bread was very standard and it was bought and not baked which is expected from a restaurant this scale. The croissants were not fresh, they looked a day old. There were few fine things but it really lacked a fine touch that stands out, some speciality that lives up to the name of the restaurant. It was pretty standard stuff and limited options for the price you pay, many hotel breakfasts are actually better and have more variety than this so called brunch. That said, it wasn’t bad but it was standard and bad for the value of money. The view is there obviously, just wish the food...
