Our first trip to Skagen and we discovered a nice restaurant which doesn’t seem to have the standard touristic food. We booked a table for 17.30, mainly because we have 2 young girls. We arrived, got the menu, we could choose from 2 starters, 1 main and 1 dessert. The starters and main were pretty good. And then it went the wrong way.
After 1h and 45 minutes we were told that the dessert was not available anymore, they could give us some ice cones, and a coffee, but we were supposed to leave because our table was booked again within 5 minutes....
I am pretty sure they want to get rid of us, and that’s why we were told that the dessert was not available. They never told us that our table was booked again. The service was ok up to that point, however the staff took it really easy (talking to each other, drinking wine and smoking outside).
So it was a flabbergasting end. And that for a restaurant that is not...
Read moreDear chefs, Dear Team
We had the best restaurant evening at your place in years. Didn't expect anything big, but when we drank your fine coffee on a hike in the morning, we thought that an evening visit could be worthwhile and no joke: The last time I found a dinner so delicious, relaxed and authentic was in the Osteria Francescana! That was haute cuisine, but without all the stupid frills, just fine, creative food with a young, uncomplicated, fun team who maybe forgets something but no big deal. The lighthouse atmosphere does the rest! It was creative, really tasty and also generous. I can imagine it's a bit too straightforward for some food snobs and kind of too special for the normal Skagen tourist, but it was perfect for us and we'll never forget this great dinner, thank you.
Please pass the compliment on to the incredibly talented chef. She...
Read moreProbably one of the best restaurant location in Denmark ! It really is a lovely place and their service is quick and friendly. Food is very well presented and tastes great !
I am not sure if we got "lucky" as we had a few small dishes offered on the house, which was a nice touch. However if we didn't get those, I feel we really would have left with a stomach half-empty.
The portions are very small (even the glass of wine felt like 10 cl at most, maybe a mistake from the waiter), and the prices quite high. A couple thin slices of squash with a few pieces of onion for 160 DKK (tasted great though !), desserts are also the same price.
If money is no object go for it it will be fantastic. If your budget is more limited, be aware of the higher prices and portions being on the...
