Bella Luna — Restaurant in Halsnæs Municipality

I've been wanting to try this restaurant for a while. (since I found out it had been renovated and under new ownership/management). Yesterday, after a tiring week and awful weather, My friend and I had the chance. We experienced what can only be described as a very cosy, relaxed afternoon. The first thing we were invited to do was warm ourselves by the fireplace. What a lovely, inviting, friendly atmosphere!

The servive was very friendly and professional. The food was delicious and presented nicely, and the overall atmosphere of the restaurant was very relaxing with a touch of romance and hidden gems of Danish history for authenticity. In speaking with the management/owners, they told us they are very keen to continue adding/decorating with traditional Danish and romantic style, to honour the Danish traditions. I take my hat off to them.

It's a wonderful beginning for very sweet, clever people who serve delicious food. I can't wait to see the outdoor area, decorated in it's lighting etc in summer! Oh yes, they asked us if we knew anything about the history of the original buildings/farmhouse where the restaurant is located. Unfortunately, I don't but if anybody reading this does, it would be it would be nice if you passed it on to them.

This is not the big lights of Copenhagen. What you experience at Bella Luna is the personal charm of a country restaurant.

Nice place, nice people, nice selection... And sadly that's all the niceness I can give. We came 7 people on a Thursday evening at about 19:00 and there wasn't that many people (not a full house) and after ordering we waited for about one hour to get our food. All three steaks were very well done, the bernaise, hollandaise and mushroom gravy tasted like it definitely wasn't homemade. So we won't...
