SAYANG - Indonesian Cuisine — Restaurant in Rødovre Municipality

Was there Saturday night with my children. The food tastes great, but:

We waited 10 minutes to order; there was one other table at the time It took 25 plus minutes to get our sodas. I had to go up to the counter and ask for them. A couple who arrived after us received their large appetiser order before we even got our drinks. I got my food before my children’s order and our appetisers. I asked if we could have the shrimp chips at least. Only then was I given the reason that they were only 2 people in the kitchen. It seems one they prioritized people who did takeaway, living the customers in their restaurant waiting. There were 3 tables (one has already been served) and it still took over 40 minutes for 3 kids meals and 3 appetisers.

Not sure I will be back any time soon. If they had had least given us free sodas or an appetiser or something to show they acknowledged how slow they were, I would give them another try. Even when I told them it took too long, there was...

Singaporean/french group trying Sayang for the first time.

We ordered the shared platter (pic), bakso, both their nasi dishes (spicy fish and rendang). Must add that their sambal is the real deal - authentic, spicy, salty.

Had a little chat with the owner, love that the restaurant is small, has a kampung vibe (homey, hygge). The staff aren’t stiff, and are very keen to engage.

Far more reasonable prices than Indo restaurants in the city, and much more authentic flavours.

Looking forward to go back and try other things...

Absolutely tremendous food. Such a taste variety and I see that 99% of the reviews have the same opinion as ours (my wife and I). I must admit that I don't understand how this restaurant can get bad reviews. The tastes, the variety and the introduction and explanation of the food by the waitress was just spot on.
