A quaint restaurant close near to the roundabout in Roseau. The food was marvelous! The ambience was quiet, rich, old time colonial. The best pommcythere juice ever, I think they call it June Plum!
Limited menu choices but it's ok because they are a small restaurant eg they were out of one fish that was needed for a few dishes and some side dishes were not available. What we got was delicious and the plating was good we had to definitely admire before we ate the food. They hands down have the best steamed vegetables I've ever had in my life...can't imagine that as an adult I'm actually typing that lol. Did I mention the food is marvelous?
We walked from our hotel to there in about 8 mins. You can't really see a sign and we doubted it was a restaurant as it just looks like and old colonial house. as we walked closer the restaurant setting gave it away. If you have a car, there is street parking. I gave it 4 stars because the area looked a little shady but it was my perspective...my personal experience of being on the guard all the time from where I live. No one harassed us at all though....
Read moreI usually do not like leaving bad reviews for a business because I know how much work goes into an establishment, being a chef myself but Ive been sitting here for 2 hours and still haven’t received my meal. The restaurant is empty and had only 4-5 tables seated. After a long day of hiking and exploring i just want a decent hot meal at a reasonable time. I understand It’s an island and this is Caribbean time lol … but 2 hours is too long a wait for some grilled shrimp and sides for a restaurant that has no views or a vibe. The food was good when it finally arrived! But make sure you either have a lot of time or your hands or you are not hungry when u arrive at the restaurant. I would urge the staff to please improve their service and be mindful of the diners time. Most travelers are super tired and hungry after a day of exploring and would appreciate prompt attentive service. Thank you for feeding me though, I am grateful...
Read moreNot such a Great House, certainly Old though. Started with a rum coke and a sparkling water. Actually got a rum, with a seperate glass of about 10 cl of non-sparkling left-over of a big coke bottle. The sparkling water was still water instead. Served in a plastic bottle, no glass. They only had 3 items out of their entire menu. Ordered a large pumpkin soup and spare ribs. The soup turned out to be as expensive as the ribs and was a regular size in Europe. Asked for bread with the soup, they didn't have any. Asked for mayonnaise, they didn't have any. Well, if you call yourself a Chef, then you should be able to make mayonnaise. How can you not have bread or mayonnaise in a restaurant?? We got 1 napkin for the both of us. Oh yes, and the prices shown on the menu are subject to a surcharge of 25%!! Only payable in cash as the machine "didn't work". Ab-so-lutely...
