Very nice location. The place itself is old and dirty. I can't even comment on the freshness of the food. It seemed ok, but if you have a sensitive stomach , I would not recommend. Taste was ok for the grilled fish which was frozen not fresh. A lot of flies ( we are in January) unfortunately , does not make a pleasant meal. Always trying to keep the flies away from the food gets tiring. Drinks were ok...but seemed witout alcohol. Need to add some rum to the coco loco or the piña colada to make them more pleasant. CLEAN the surroundings.

Tourist trap. Food is undercooked and overpriced. We waited 30’ - and the restaurant was quite empty - for a VERY small plate of chewy and certainly not fresh calamari and fries. They didn’t have half of the menu written outside and we paid that plate 16$ - 800 pesos + a medium presidente beer 6$ - 300 pesos (!?) The waiter didn’t even dare to ask if everything was ok. They see white people and automatically think they are rich tourists that can be fooled. Just don’t go there. 1 star is just for the view, which is why we stopped there.

Had lunch at one of the top 10 beaches in the world. The food took a while to cook but my wife and I had the chicken plate with rice Avocado and tostones (fried plantain) and it was incredible. Enjoyed a couple of cervesas and a coco loco. We will be coming back. Follow along on our journey on our YouTube channel Newtons Abroad.

We walked up to an outdoor grill here, on the backside. Where some workers were grilling fish. We asked how much and they acted like they couldn't understand anything. Foolishly; we went ahead and asked for 2 fish and rice. They understand "two fish and rice". After a few "cocoloco" drinks on the beach the fish was ready. We walked up and had a couple more beers. The fish was undercooked. I was wondering why these kids kept looking at us. Then the bill came. It was about $200 US

The owner (or bill collector) spoke English. While the local policeman right around the corner. Minin is clearly a tourist trap of the worst kind. They rip off daytrippers from the cruise lines. Knowing that they cannot afford the time to argue and miss their return trip to their boats. We haven't been to the restaurant to the right called Tipico. However; I believe they post their prices outside the door.

I am certain that Holland America (and possibly others) no longer takes tour groups to Rincon because...

I asked for fried fish and fried plantains. After 15 minutes, the person says that there has been a delay in getting the fish. A bit disappointed, but I convinced myself that there may have been some issue and said that just fried plantains are ok. Another 15 minutes later, he says that they are out of plantains. By then, it was almost time for us to return and I ended up just getting a Pina Colada without rum for lunch. if he had been upfront, I would have gone to a different place for lunch. They were being courteous/polite at least. Hence the 2 stars for service. Such a beautiful location. Some basic cleaning in and around the building is...
