McDonald's — Restaurant in Santiago de los Caballeros

This was my first foreign McDonald's experience. I did not go in and order and someone else got it and surprised me since I said I wanted McDonald's and I had had McDonald's withdraw symptoms. Overall, it was a bit different taste wise from McDonald's in the US. However, I wouldn't consider it a bad thing. The fries tasted very similar to the fries in the states. I got a quarter pounder. The bread was more dry than in the states and the meat looked a bit different. However, I had no complaints. It was just different than any McDonald's I had ever had. It was actually good. They also got my special order right which is a plus. I also got a Coke as my drink. I was a bit paranoid at first if I would get dysentery from drinking a non bottled drink where I'm not supposed to drink the water, but I was fine so I assume they have a powerful filtration system like in the states. Overall, I highly recommend trying this place. Especially if you're from the states and want a slightly different McDonald's experience despite all the authentic Dominican food around. Seems pretty clean. Obviously this is not a healthy place to eat by any stretch of the imagination but everyone knows that. The prices seemed to be 1/3 higher than then ones near me in the U.S.. I got a chicken snack wrap and the lettuce tasted old, but that happens in the U.S. as well. They have plantain with their breakfast which is incorporating local food. They dont have all the things(especially off the menu things) that you can order in the U.S. It has to be on the menu. They do have wifi which is nice. Terrible customer service and not to mention the food, the potatoes were hard, the samwinch was spicy... I bought two Happy boxes for my 4 and 6 year old daughters and it is incredible that they come with soda for some girls, I have never given them soda. I was amazed when I saw it... Macdonald USA never gives you that in...
