PriceSmart — Restaurant in Santo Domingo

The store itself is nice and the prices are reasonable however the service at the food counter is horrible. People are always standing around talking instead of working and they generally have one cashier and one person serving food with a ton of people always waiting. I was there today to purchase a drink and waited nearly 20 minutes online just to get a drink. They really need to step it up in that area.

Recently the prices have increased a lot and I have stopped purchasing many of the things I used to and now shop more in the supermarket.

Costco/BJ's of Dominican Republic.. everything i would find in the American counterpart (including Kirkland products) is here.. overall, you find some nice savings on groceries here. Threw a BBQ for the whole family , so glad i found here before attempting to get everything, especially bulk items, in a Bravo or Nacional. I am a price shopper so of course i can find things like electronics and home goods cheaper , but having a wide selection of brands and items im accustomed to seeing in the states is nice and i plan on putting good use to my annual $35...

This place is very expensive. It's ridiculously expensive. It's stunningly expensive. Any supermarket you go and will have less expensive items guaranteed. Bravo, El Nacional, even La Cadena Is less expensive than this overrated supermarket. They overprice everything. They should be called Overpricedumb. Because "smart" they aren't.
