Burger King — Restaurant in Al Hadaba

TLDR: The worst Burger King I have visited so far. You are probably better off getting food anywhere else in the airport. If you want to feel all form of happiness that you have gotten from your vacation slip away even before landing back in your home airport, I would definitely recommend a meal here. Be smarter than the ones before you and just grab a bite at the other options around the airport.

When grabbing a bite at an international fast food chain, I simply want to have something familiar which tastes the same no matter where you are currently stranded. No matter where in the globe, the colonel, the clown and the king are supposed to provide the sweet comfort of familiarity in foreign lands. Therefore, no matter where you are (from the fancy AF Burger Kings in Asia or the most run down joint at your local train station), a Whopper should provide you with the same artery clogging experience across the globe: after consuming it, one should feel full, content with a hint of shame and disgust for having consumed the equivalent of a day worth´s of calories in one sitting.

The Burger King here is the exact opposite. It seems that this Burger King has somehow managed to perfect the art of removing all salt, MSG or other flavors from the burgers and fries. The only redeeming factors: the coke tasted like it should (I was half expecting them to have somehow managed to remove all the sugar and flavor from this one too) and everything was edible (but then again, so is cardboard). Also if you are not a big fan of cheese, the burgers here don´t come with any, so anyone with a lactose intolerance or following a Kosher diet could theoretically eat here (even though I still wouldn´t recommend it). In summary, only eat here if you really enjoy bland food, or if you want to know how your parents feel about all the terrible choices you have made over...

TERRIBLE, DISGUSTING. VERY BAD STOMACH AFTERWARDS. To start with the staff were unable to work out who was next in the queue despite the queue being the giveaway. The menu was limited to just 2 burgers. They took the double Whopper off the menu despite offering the standard whopper which I presume is just one patty less. They pre cooked these which meant they were banking on the orders which meant the burgers were all getting cold sitting around and it seemed like this was why they only offered 2 burgers. I had to order two whopper meals through lack of choice. On being given my food I asked for a hot burger and he just took another from the cold pile just saying they’re all the same. My wife took one bite and couldn’t eat any more. I finished half the burger but despite my hunger I also gave up. This is the worst experience at a burger restaurant that I’ve ever had. Then to top it off, on our return home we both had terrible stomach issues which eventually passed after a week or so. Trying to contact BK support is pointless as despite being a global company, their chat support function sends you down a path that means you just can’t complain about your experience...

As an Egyptian, I was extremely disappointed with my experience at the Burger King in Hurghada Airport. To start with, I was shocked to find out that I could not pay with my Egyptian bank card in Egyptian pounds, but was instead required to pay in dollars. In my own country? This is simply unacceptable.

The quality of the food was another major letdown. The fries were almost burnt, and the overall taste of the meal was far below the standard I would expect from a global fast-food chain like Burger King.

Moreover, the cleanliness of the dining area was disgraceful. Considering that this location serves a large number of tourists, the state of the restaurant was particularly embarrassing. The tables were dirty, and the floor was in desperate need of cleaning.

To make matters worse, there was no toy available with the Kids Meal, yet I was still charged the full price. This is an outrage and feels like a rip-off. Not providing the complete service that was paid for is simply a crime.
