Hi, I would to share my experience I had earlier around 8pm. My daughter and I ordered for 2 items, one of them was a kids' meal. We were asked about our choice of drink at the cashier, we requested a 7UP.
Upon receiving our order, we realized that the soft drink that was supposed to come with the meal was missing. My daughter went to ask about the missing drink, and the employee mentioned that she had not charged us for it my daughter took my card I understood the employee charged us for additional drink. However, upon reviewing the invoice, I noticed that the drink is included with the meal why we were charged for an additional drink.
My daughter went back to discuss this discrepancy with the employee, who seemed to have misunderstanding the situation who took the invoice and did not return it to us. My bank account in Saudi Arabia and I do not receive messages for my purchases, I personally approached the cashier to clarify the matter. Unfortunately, she insisted that she did not charge us for the missing drink.
I expressed my frustration to her highlighting that the entire situation was caused by her and questioned why payment was requested for additional drink. I also mentioned the lack of professionalism in handling the issue and the failure to return our invoice this by itself violation against customers rights to receive the invoice for our purchases.
To my surprise, another employee named Mahmood followed us to our car to apologize for the inconvenience. He even went the extra mile to double-check the POS transactions if we had been double-charged, he even offered us a compensation with anything to ensure our satisfaction.
For us, the issue is not about receiving compensation, the whole issue about being treated fairly and professionally. I would say I never used such incident at McDonald's in my 30 years living in Saudi (we have never experienced such treatment before)
