I am very happy that I had the opportunity to visit this restaurant, which was highly recommended to me by a car rental agent at my hotel. The distance from the Zona Rosa area in San Salvador to Beto's Restaurant wasn’t bad at all - only about a 50-minute drive. The restaurant is located on a cliff overlooking the ocean, which gives you breathtaking views. It was very enjoyable to hang out here during lunchtime, and I was lucky to get a table right on the edge. The restaurant was quite busy around 1 p.m. on Friday. They have free parking with security, which is definitely a plus. The staff who took care of me were very sweet and friendly. However, I should mention that the host and my waiter spoke almost no English, so it was a bit hard to communicate. I had to use Google Translate a couple of times. The restaurant menu is large and offers a wide variety of dishes, though it’s mostly seafood. My partner and I decided to start with Fried Calamari to share. For the main courses I ordered Spaghetti a la Marinera (seafood pasta), and my partner went with a Shrimp Pizza. Unfortunately, the fried calamari weren’t very tasty - they were dry and overcooked. The french fries that came with them were just okay - soft and not crispy. My partner’s Shrimp Pizza tasted fine, but he wasn’t very excited about the flavor. I tried a piece, and I agreed with his opinion. By the way, he ordered a medium pizza, which was quite large. He left a couple of slices on the plate, so I’d probably recommend ordering a small pizza if you plan to have an appetizer first. Finally, my Seafood Spaghetti was absolutely delicious! I loved everything about it - the way the pasta was cooked, the flavor of the slightly spicy red sauce, and the freshness of the seafood (by the way, this dish normally comes with mussels, but since I don’t like them, I asked to have them removed and replaced with extra calamari, which the kitchen did for me). To drink, we both had non-alcoholic Pina Coladas, and they were super tasty! Prices at Beto's Restaurant are higher compared to most restaurants in El Salvador, but still very reasonable. For example, my fresh seafood pasta was only $13 - a fantastic deal! You’d never find seafood pasta for that price in the USA or Europe. Even though not all the food we tried was delicious, I still really enjoyed my time at the restaurant. It’s definitely a place I’d come back to. I absolutely recommend visiting Beto's Restaurant at least once - for the experience, the relaxing outdoor atmosphere, and the stunning views. Trust me and definitely try their virgin Pina Colada and Spaghetti a...
Read moreWe had an overall satisfactory experience at Beto's Restaurant, giving it three stars out of five. The service was commendable, and finding parking was easy, while the view of the Pacific beach at sunset added to the ambiance.
However, we noticed that the drinks in the country, including their House Draft Beer, lacked the flavorful appeal we expected. As such, we recommend not ordering cocktails if you've experienced better quality ones in places like New York.
The ceviche was indeed tasty, but we were disappointed when we were informed that they had run out of plantain chips, even though we saw them being served to another table. No alternative option was provided to us.
Beto's Restaurant seems to cater to tourists, reflected in the reasonable prices, but the extensive menu might be affecting the attention to flavor in some dishes. We suggest focusing on a more refined selection of essential dishes to enhance the overall dining experience.
The paella, which is traditionally a seafood dish, raised concerns as it included sausages, chicken, and pork, deviating from expectations. The lack of seafood flavor was noticeable. Additionally, when I ordered the shrimp and garlic sauce with white rice, not specifying baby shrimp was a mistake, as it lacked the desired flavor.
Despite its potential, Beto's Restaurant left us with mixed feelings. The beautiful views and accommodating staff were definite highlights, but improvements in the menu selection, drink preparation, and dish flavors could make this restaurant a true standout destination for both locals and tourists. The reasonable price of $55, covering two alcoholic drinks, appetizers, and two entrees, made it a satisfactory experience overall.
This was for a Wednesday evening at 6pm while we watched the sunset over...

Parking:
You should be ready to stop as it's located on a slight bend and the speed on that road is a bit fast to be looking for it if you never been so be cautious. Once you get there, the parking is available but pretty crammed if you come at lunch time or dinner. The attendants help you squeeze in where you fit.
Atmosphere:
The location is just beautiful. It has a Mediterranean vibe with the white paint and cascading type stairs leading towards the ocean cliff. There are very professional looking servers and gives off a resort or business/casual vibe. You can hear the waves and see the never ending ocean. While the sun may be beautiful, be sure to get under an umbrella that has a good angle for when the sun shifts positions cause it can get HOT
Food: I don't eat seafood, don't listen to me
I ordered the carne burger, which was mixed with ribeye meat I believe. I found the meat to be very soft and tasty. The fries were crispy and had a neutral flavour.
Ultimately, If you want to feel like you're on a luxurious vacation and love the ocean, this is a great spot to go, at least for drinks. I can't speak much for the food since I didn't eat what they specialize in, which is seafood. For a salvadoran, it may be too pricey but for tourist, it can seem like a typical...
