Wow! Fabulous authentic El Salvadoran seafood, meats, and soups at a great price! The seafood cocteles are very fresh and prepared perfectly. I had the shrimp/calamari combo with fresh tomatoes, onions, peppers and cilantro. Chicharones are fresh and tender. Could use a little more seasoning so add a little hot sauce. We recently had a wonderful dinner at Maurita Mariscos and Cocteles in Soyapango, El Salvador. Our group of nine enjoyed a delightful meal with a variety of dishes including fried fish, chicharrones, and a rich cream of marisco. The food was absolutely delicious, but what truly stood out was the exceptional service. The servers were always smiling, frequently checked on us, and made excellent suggestions. Different experience. I got the seafood bowl. Just a giant bowl with soup. Much chunks of fish, squid tentacles, some clams, mussels, crabs, and shrimp inside some sort of broth. It did not taste the best. Very salty and bland. Everything in it tasted the same, just bland fishy. About an hour later, I had a horrible stomach ache that lasted till I fell asleep.
