Kala on Muhu Island is a Michelin-star experience waiting to happen. Mikk, the owner and head chef, has brought his expertise from other top restaurants to create something truly special here. The moment you walk in, you're greeted with warm hospitality and a cozy, beautifully designed (Santorini style) space that reflects the island's charm. I had the pleasure of trying their Äkis fish dish, and it was simply outstanding—fresh, flavorful, and prepared to perfection. Mikk’s passion for quality and local ingredients really shines through. Don’t miss the chance to try their cocktails, especially the ones made with Estonian Junimperium gin. They offer the most authentic taste of Estonia in a glass! If you’re on Muhu Island, Kala is a must-visit. An unforgettable dining...
Köögi tase on väga kõrge, Eesti Top 5. Kurb, et teenindus ühel päeval suudab maksimumhinde alla tõmmata.
We visited the restaurant on two consecutive days and tried almost every item on the menu.
Day 1:
Pike aspic: 5/5
Fried calamari: 5/5
Pike patties: 5/5
Pike burger with caviar: 5/5
Perch soup: 3/5 (bland)
Smoked eel: 4/5
Dessert: 4/5
Service: Excellent
Day 2:
Service: Terrible! We waited 15 minutes at the table for menus and finally had to ask ourselves. We waited 30 minutes for drinks. The staff ignored us completely. At a nearby table, drinks were sent back due to the absurdly long wait time. The restaurant was at most half full, but there were at least five staff members present.
Food: Still very good, average 4/5. Prawns: 5/5
Overall impression: The kitchen is top-tier – easily Top 5 in Estonia. Sadly, poor service on one day can significantly bring down the...
Read moreA surprising little gem by a small harbour and a camping site. We enjoyed a late lunch at the sunny terrace which has a somewhat Greek atmosphere and very friendly service. Simple, but yet tasty food prepared of fresh ingredients. I loved the fish tartar sandwiches, and the fish and chips. Definitely worth of making a detour from...
