We spent a truly memorable and relaxing afternoon at Pilguse Residency and Restaurant, and it was without a doubt the highlight of our stay on Saaremaa. Everything about this place — from the stunning grounds and stylish accommodation to the exceptional restaurant and the wonderful staff — radiates warmth, beauty, and genuine hospitality.

The team at Pilguse are true professionals. They gave us the most precious gifts: their time, knowledge, and attention. Nothing was ever too much trouble. They took the time to show us around, share the fascinating history of the property, and make us feel genuinely special and welcome.

The interior design is a perfect blend of old and new — thoughtfully decorated with beautiful flower arrangements, unique antique pieces, cosy lighting, and warming fires that create a homely yet elegant atmosphere.

The food was absolutely delicious — fresh, local, and cooked on the premises with real care and creativity. The smoked duck was perfection. Special thanks to Mark at the front of house, the talented chef (who also kindly showed us the rooms), and the sommelier for his exquisite wine recommendations.

Well this was truly a unique experience. This is a farm in the middle of nowhere and it is also a hotel. It was off season and they had just a few groups here and that is why they took their sweet time to prepare the meals, but when they arrived we were very impressed!

The combinations of the flavours were surprising and the fish was very fresh and well smoked. Only complaint was that there was not enought of those sweet potato cakes!

We were so lucky to find this place on a Sunday at the end of active tourism season. This is a huge territory with all sorts of events and services possible as I understand.
