Excellent restaurant in Lalibela if there are enough guests (tour groups or conference) for you to enjoy their scrumptious buffet.
Otherwise, the a la carte menu is short and the food was lackluster: the Nile Perch which was stated to be grilled was fried to a crisp and I couldn’t eat it.
However, we asked them to prepare their fabulous beetroot, carrot and chickpea, and spinach fritters with fresh veg which we had enjoyed as part of their buffet offering and they complied. We also requested a delicious veg and lentil soup. They had everything ready for us to collect for dinner so we could take it back to our hotel in time for car curfew at 8 PM. They even loaned us real forks and knives to be returned the next day as they don’t usually do take out.
Facilities are clean and service is excellent. We had wanted to try Ethiopian honey wine but they didn’t have any. The owner called the next day to say he had bought some....

The waiters and waitresses are always friendly, making us feel warmly welcomed from the moment we arrive. The food is consistently fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. While waiting for our meals, they treat us to handmade bread accompanied by mouthwatering sauces, which is a delightful start.
We’ve made it a tradition to order one lamb dish and one fish dish each time. The grilled fish is incredibly fresh, and paired with crispy potatoes, it’s a perfect combination. The lamb is tender and full of flavour, cooked to perfection every time.

Read moreOur guide took us to this new restaurant the first night we arrived to Lalibela. We were promised typical Ethiopian cuisine... And we were gladly surprised. The restaurant itself is very cozy, with dim lights and ethiopian live music during our dinner.
The Chef is extremely talented, and all our dishes were full of flavor! Be careful when ordering because the serving size is quite large.
There is free wifi, and the owner is a very pleasant man who made sure we felt like at home here.
I recommend this...
