The worst dining experience and service I've ever had, especially at a high-end resort. We made a reservation and were seated right away, but it was 20 minutes before anyone even acknowledged us. We ordered and our waiter repeated our (somewhat complex) orders back to us, stumbling over at least 5 of our dishes and drinks. There were 4 of us. The service was slow and inattentive all night. The staff was trying their best, but most of them were clearly not experienced or even trained as waitstaff. The drinks were ok. Pictured are the tomato tart (basically a soggy cracker with raw tomatoes on top) and the scallops with pork belly (which was actually very delicious). Then they brought my steak and a side of fries that none of us ordered. I looked at it for a moment, then a woman came back and said, "so sorry this is not yours, yours is coming," and served both to someone else. I hope that's what they ordered. Finally, we got our food. I ordered a fillet, and was told my plate was a fillet, but it was definitely a sirloin. And a mediocre one at that. The rock lobster was basically a 4 oz lobster tail, since the body isn't edible and it was not served with a cracking tool for the legs. The "duck breast" main course consisted of 2 slices of breast meat with the skin and fat on it, and one brussels sprout. Overall, completely unacceptable for a $500 FJ (about $250 US) meal at a restaurant claiming to be the resort's top spot for...

The Fish bar is incredible. As you’d expect from the staff they are fantastic. I did a horrible job of taking pictures of the kai but next time I promise.

I started with the Kokoda. Priced at $40 FD was good but not as good as other restaurants on the resort and the lack of fish within the dish didnt give the value $40 FD commands. This was disappointing.

My main was the 300gram Angus scotch fillet, medium rare. Priced at $90 FD again I expected an exceptional steak. We purchased sides to go along with our steaks such as the green salad, mash potatoes and pumpkin sweet potato.

The steak was average that needed resting. My sauce was mushroom that lacked mushrooms. It was tasty but not hitting the standards I’d expect. For $90 FD care should be taken with the meat.

Now the wife had a different experience with her 200 gram eye fillet which was also an Angus. Cooked rare it was perfect. Cooked to perfection and handled with love. Looking and tasting hers I really made a terrible choice.

Priced at $92 FD the experience delivered the expectation. She...

We visited the Fish Bar on Saturday night to celebrate my birthday. We went there earlier in the day to marvel the beautiful views on the other side of the island and it didn’t disappoint.Magnificent views. We then experienced the infinity pool again with magnificent views and then sat in the spa and enjoyed a cold beer and a lovely cocktail. We then enjoyed the beautiful Fijian hospitality and professional service again in the evening for our meal. A special mention to John who greeted us and sat us at a lovely table outside who finished his shift but not before coming over and wishing us all the best. Also a very special mention to Marama for her outstanding service and caring attitude. The food was beautiful and the two Chefs even came to our table to discuss which sauces we would like on our Rock Lobsters. I was then treated to a magnificent version of Happy Birthday by a large group of staff which was very humbling and actually emotional. These people love singing and they are very good at it. Once again a Big Thank You to...

Arranged private dining option with Agnes and taken care by the restaurant manager John. The dining took place on the very private side of the restaurant, away from the restaurant and pool crowd. Absolute privacy was observed throughout the dinner. Staff only came forward between course. The dinner was accompanied by the Sunset that took place between 5.45 pm to 6.45 pm. The four-course Salt Menu, created by the executive chef, was very enjoyable. (Thank you chef!) We had tuna, scallops, pork belly, beef fillet and whiskey-chocolate dessert. Each course was accompanied with different salt flavoured (lime, chilli, hibiscus, coconut) made by nearby villages. It is value-worthy and tasty! The night ended with the restaurant guitarist, service staff and John singing Fiji songs from afar, slowly closing in with a birthday song. We were almost moved to tears! Will we miss this restaurant for its venue, food and people? Definitely yes and we will talk about it for years to come!
