Korat Tam Tam — Restaurant in Helsinki sub-region

Being from India and living thousands of kilometers away in Helsinki, Finland, it’s rare to find a place that feels like home. But TamTam is exactly that for me! This Thai restaurant isn’t just my go-to spot; it’s the highlight of my day. I’ve been a regular for over six months, and trust me when I say it’s hands down the BEST food in Helsinki. The buffet is incredible, and the menu dishes? Simply mind-blowing.

But what happened today really blew me away. The staff already knew I never took the noodles from the buffet because they contain eggs, and I’m a vegetarian. Out of nowhere, the kind lady who works there surprised me with a box of freshly cooked vegetarian noodles—without eggs—just for me to take home. She didn’t have to do this; it wasn’t some tactic to keep me coming back. It was just pure, genuine kindness. It’s moments like these that show how much heart they put into what they do.

This place is really good. We visited on Saturday at 4pm and it was full. Plus many customers came to take away. The atmosphere is relaxed and home-like, nothing fancy. Dishes we ordered came with a very decent amount of rice. Both dishes: punainen curry 10€ and gaeng panang 12€, were tasty and big.

We already know we will be coming back to try dishes from their 'special menu', which they also announce on their FB page.

I haven't tasted any authentic Thai food, thus I can't say whether it is authentic or not. Yet the food is tasty. The restaurant has daily buffet 10 euro, including warm food, salad, coffee and tea. Besides, everyday the restaurant has recommended dishes from their menu, price range from 10 - 15 euro. Recommended dishes are posted daily on their Facebook.
