Great Mexican food in Jarvenpää, best in Finland that I’ve tried!

Visited on a Friday lunch time and managed to get a table, the wait wasn’t long, we ordered both eat in and takeout.

We had -tacos cartinas de credo (pork tacos): these were the highlight, the meat is slow cooked and smoky, you can taste the ancho chilli which gives it that smokiness. The tacos hold their shape and don’t fall apart when you eat them, they pair very well with the lime and the pickled onions. The tacos came with a green salsa (delicious and fresh), a red salsa (wish it was spicier for my taste) and guacamole. I highly recommend this dish, I would absolutely order this again -San Diego chicken burrito: eaten by my friend and he said it was the best chicken burrito he’s had in Finland and will be coming back for it -Californian pork burrito: very filling, well rolled, the pork was delicious in this but it was slightly lost due to the pineapple which made it slightly too sweet. Would be a knockout if it was smokier/more savoury to balance the sweetness or overall less sweet. However this is the best pork burrito I’ve had in Finland!

All burritos and tacos are served with tortilla chips which are homemade and made to order, these are fantastic. They are crunchy, have a special seasoning powder on top which gives a bit of heat, and you can tell they are fresh.

Overall the pork tacos and the tortilla chips were the food highlights for me!! I will be coming back to try all the tacos!

Shoutout to the chef/owner, he is incredibly friendly, took the time to chat with us about the food and the history of his cooking and asked us in detail what we thought about the food since he noticed we were really interested. The guy is super nice and we’ll be coming back for his food and his friendliness!...

Ylivoimaisesti parasta mexicolaista ruokaa mitä olen ikinä syönyt! Tacot ja nachot olivat herkullisia sekä todella hyvin maustettuja. Käyn täällä ehdottomasti uudestaan.

Päivitys 8.10: Viimeksi söin tacot kanalla ja tällä kertaa valitsin possulla. Molemmat ovat äärettömän hyviä, voin lämpimästi suositella molempia.

Päivitys 18.11: Päätin tällä kertaa testata Californian Pork Burriton. Burrito oli erinomainen ja hyvin täyttävä. Tykkään enemmän tacoista, mutta suosittelen ehdottomasti burritoakin.

Päivitys 4.3.2024: Päätin kokeilla kaksi vielä kokeilematta jäänyttä ruokaa, quesadilla ja loaded fries gringos. Quesadillat olivat erinomaisia. Valitsin täytteeksi eurolla lisäksi saatavan carnitas possun. Possu teki quesadilloista erinomaiset, vaikka jo normaali versiossa oli hyvin makua.

Loaded fries gringos oli myös hyvä valinta. Ranskalaiset olivat rapeita ja maukkaita, kun taas päällä olevat lisukkeet toivat siihen lisämakua. Näin yhteenvetona voin lämpimästi suositella sekä quesadilloja, että loaded frieseja, mutta itse pidän eniten tacoista sekä burritoista.

Päivitys 5.4: Kokeilin uusia Tacos Tinga De Pollo kanatacoja. Tacot olivat erinomaisia, kuten muutkin tacot. Kana oli suussa sulavaa ja hyvin maustettu. Voin ehdottomasti suositella myös tätäkin tacoa.

Päivitys 5.12: Joka kuukausi syönyt Mexicalia ilman "ongelmia", mutta tällä kerralla tilattu "Nachos a la Cali" annos oli puolet normi koostansa, eikä nachoja ollut mukana aterioissa niinkuin yleensä. Ruoka oli kyllä erinomaista, mutta nachojen määrä oli minimaalinen.

Päivitys 18.1.2025: Toinen kerta kun on jotain negatiivista sanottavaa. Ensin meinattiin unohtaa toinen taco annoksista ja kotona huomattiin, että ostamamme lisä taco puuttui kokonaan. Ruoka oli kyllä erinomaista kuten aina, mutta ei ole kiva maksaa...

Täältä saa ihan oikeasti samanlaista ruokaa kuin mitä Kalifornian meksikolaiset ravintolat myyvät. Nachot myös uppopaistettuja ja tuoreita. Tämä siis ei ole texmexiä, jota Suomessa ollaan totuttu syömään. Suosittelen kyllä. Menu saisi olla hieman pidempi. Annokset reilun kokoisia. Olisipa täälläkin "taco Tuesday", voisi houkutella uusiakin asiakkaita, kun olisi...
