Stepping into Mr. Pastrami feels like being welcomed into a dear friend’s home. The owner greets you with genuine warmth, eagerly sharing the stories behind each dish, making you feel like part of the family. The Reuben pastrami sandwich is a masterpiece. The pastrami is tender and flavorful, complemented perfectly by melted cheese, all nestled between slices of freshly toasted bread. Each bite is a harmonious blend of textures and tastes that leaves you craving more. The authenticity of the food is remarkable. Traditional recipes are prepared with meticulous care, transporting you to the heart of a classic delicatessen. The sides are equally impressive; the creamy, flavorful potato salad and the rich, indulgent mac ’n cheese are the perfect companions to the main dishes. It’s important to note that Mr. Pastrami doesn’t offer delivery or takeout services, and for good reason. The dining experience here is integral to the enjoyment of the meal. The ambiance, the owner’s personal touch, and the immediate freshness of the food create a unique atmosphere that can’t be replicated elsewhere. This approach ensures that every dish is enjoyed at its peak, providing a dining experience that is both memorable and satisfying. Beyond the exceptional food, it’s the personal touch that sets this place apart. The owner’s passion for their craft and dedication to creating a welcoming atmosphere make every visit a memorable experience. It’s a rare gem in Finland where you not only savor delicious meals but also feel a genuine connection to the people behind them. If you’re seeking a dining experience that combines outstanding cuisine with heartfelt hospitality, Mr. Pastrami is the place to be.

Tucked away in the chic streets of Westend, Mr. Pastrami stands as a beacon for meat lovers. As I entered into this unassuming joint, I was greeted not just with kindness but with a lesson in meatology. The difference between pastrami and brisket? Consider me schooled. The reuben pastrami was recommended by both patrons and staff. And let me tell you, it did not disappoint. The pastrami was as tender as a love ballad, with each slice a testament to the craft. The pulled pork, a dish I hold close to my heart, was respectable—a solid rendition of a classic. Now, let’s talk about decor. It’s as if they’ve poured all their love into the meat, leaving the decor to fend for itself. But when the food is this good, who needs frills? In the Reuben pastrami sandwich the meat was plentiful, but I believe it needed a bit more sauce, It was a bit dry at the end, a missed opportunity for greatness. The coleslaw, while commendably healthy, was shy on flavor, the mac&cheese did not use macaroni and was a bit bland and the potato salad straddled the line between salad and mash, but it was really good. In conclusion, Mr. Pastrami is a place where the meat sings but the sides whisper. A little more sauce, a dash of boldness in the coleslaw and mac&cheese, and this place could be a symphony. Until then, it’s a damn fine melody.

Updated review based on owner’s response: I understand your concept is relatively new in Finland, and I assume you are an entrepreneur who has chosen a challenging path that involves hard work. That is admirable. However, if you truly stand by your product, you must also respect differing opinions. We, as consumers, are the foundation of your business. Criticism and feedback should be embraced as opportunities for improvement, not met with defensiveness. Perhaps in New York, business owners are accustomed to a different dynamic, but here in Finland, we do not view a business as untouchable. Respect for your guests is essential. This is not America. We value humility, professionalism, and listening as much as innovation. Review based on one visit. The service here was fantastic; friendly, attentive, and welcoming. The food was good, though a bit on the simple side although came with two sides, which was a nice touch. Price-wise, it feels a little expensive if you think of it purely as a sandwich, but more in line with what you’d pay for a burger. Overall, a pleasant experience, especially thanks to the great service.
