Our lunch experience (2 people);
Good service at front desk, took food order (braised brisket and garlic potatoes and chicken salsa pizza), grabbed a drink, paid our bill and recieved a table number.
-Our first visit to Saana and was very impressed with the architecture and general look of the building, very modern, clean and just nice. Great scenery and atmosphere, people sitting on the terrace drinking, chatting and eating, smell of fresh wood in the air, very pleasant.
We found a seat in the dining area about 10 - 16 meters away from the open style kitchen overlooking the terrace and lake. We sat and started chatting and passing the time.
After a moment we noticed the dismay of the serving staff and the confusion of the chefs. Food was not finding the correct table and spending far to long standing around.
After a while a waitress approached the table carrying the wrong dishes, confused she returned the the kitchen, a moment passed and she returned with only my dish, the brisket (pictured). And said the pizza would be along shortly.
I tasted my dish, lacking salt and flavour. We waited 10 minutes when I flag down a waitress and enquired about the pizza and also informed about my dish now being cold and requested a replacement.
A few more minutes went past and the waitress returned with both dishes, great. Still lacking in salt and flavour, not so great. But pizza was pretty good.
--TLDR; 13€ for a lunch consisting of ready cooked potatoes slices, and flavourless dry brisket with a hint of herb sauce. I could have gotten better at ABC (gas station) and saved myself a few euros.
Other note, if you are going to have a open kitchen it is good etiquette to have your chefs wear gloves during service and also keep the swearing and frustrations...
Read moreFood and views at Saana (I'd say it's a Savonian way of saying sauna) were really good but service was really slow and felt a bit unorganized.
We didn't use the saunas or pools so this will only touch on the restaurant part of Saana.
We were told the place is really packed and that we would have to wait for our food which was fine. The place had at least 1/3 of customer spots free for thhe whole time, there was at least 4-5 floor personnel which seemed more than enough compared to the amount of customers.
Food was coming out of the kitchen in a good pace but was left on the counter for line 15min as the floor personnel didn't take it to the customers even though at the best times there was 4 people talking in front of the counter, not taking orders or bringing food to people, just talking. Then leaving without taking the food. As said. We were prepared to wait so no worries there but with us both having a restauramt background we noticed this unorganization which resulted in probably some cold foods and long waiting times.
Service was friendly and everything so no complaints there. Just from one experience: a bit unorganized but friendly service with good food and...
Read moreCame to have lunch in thier Fisu restaurant, had smash cheese burger and it was salty in my honest opinion. I was adament to tell it to the staff as no one came to our table after they serve our food coz we have paid the meal upon ordering from the cashier. I manage to eat half of the burger though trying to convience myself that it was ok but it wasn't. Burger came with fries and it was ok, it wasn't your typical fries not sure if it was homemade or not but i haven't seen it anywhere else. Had also kinkku ananas pizza (hawaiian pizza) it was eatable, it doesn't taste hawaiian pizza or even a normal pizza at all coz it came with basil, onion and paprika on it too so the taste is everywhere. Restaurant staff doesn't even greet you at all even when you just came in. They just stare at you as if your nothing. I don't expect them to but at least have some courtesy to the customers. However, the ambience and the...
