So, I finally got round to visiting this place for lunch today (02.10.24). Wow, amazing!!! Where have you been all my life?!?!? The setting is on the western coast of Ruissalo Island, and encompasses the Ruissalo Sailing Club premisses (Finland's 1st airport, from back in the days of the 1920s) Had the soup for starter (think it was cauliflower 🤔). Mind blowing flavours, many of which my pallet couldn't even identify! House cheeseburger for main. Again,an awesome mix of flavours, and NOT laced with copious amounts of mayo!! You could actually taste the quality of the meat, a generous size, with the best fries I ever had in this part of the world. Couldn't finish them all, cos I fancied trying out the deserts! So, to round things off, I had the Crème Brûlée. I've never been a big fan, but as the lively waitress mentioned it is one of the house signature dishes, I gave it a go. So glad I did. It was like nothing I've had before! AND free coffee and dessert are on promotion right now, so check out their Facebook page for details. In the famourls words of Arnie, "I'll...
Read moreI had an amazing Chef's table menu with ten expertly prepared courses and alcohol free drinks. Flavors were pure, delicious and interesting, with wild herbs which were expertly used, not just as a garnish but as an essential part of the menu.
The chef's stories behind the food, his philosophy on leaving no waste, appreciating the producers, and preparing many awesome and time consuming products himself (like vinegar and kombucha), was as interesting as the food itself and I highly appreciated it. He also shared many methods which were truly amazing and surprising. I recommend Chef's table to anyone wishing to get behind the scenes, enjoying a well-thought menu and having a...

Stumbled upon this place after visiting the Botanical Garden and it ended up exceeding our expectations by a mile!! We got the soup of the day (carrot and coriander) which was delicious and perfect for a cold day. The fish of the day was sea bass. It was undeniably fresh, cooked perfectly with a vibrant salsa verde on top, accompanied by a side of veggies. The beef curry was also extremely warming on a cold day and spiced just right.
Richie stopped by our table to say hello and make sure everything to our liking. He was pleasant and genuine, making us feel very welcomed and inspiring us to write this review.
We hope this business flourishes the way it deserves!! We've been visiting in Finland for almost two weeks and this was the best meal we had on the...
