I am giving this restaurant 5 stars because I was surprised how generous the portions were and how much they cared about the quality. My husband and I both decided on the meat of the day (which was lamb) and basmati rice. My husband had the pleasure of being seated so he could see the chef in the kitchen. When he made our plate, my husband said, “I hope that is ours because it looks fantastic!” As luck would have it, it was ours. All the dishes that we saw come out of the kitchen looked wonderful. As this restaurant is attached to a chateau, it is not fast food, but we were pleased with the price of 22€ for each plate and 7€ for my husband’s Belgian beer. The hardest thing when eating out in a country that is not your native country is understanding what you are ordering. The menu was printed in French and English. The restaurant has an online site where you can check out the specials and the menu so you can decide...
Read moreWe informed the restaurant of a vegetarian requirement at the time of booking through the hotel. We were promised a vegetarian menu in writing before arrival but when we got to the restaurant the restaurant told us that it didn't exist. The vegetarian was offered a “veggie burger” but what came out was an omelet served in a hamburger bun. Since the vegetarian doesn't eat eggs they simply could not eat (and there is nothing else available with a 15 km radius). The manager became argumentative and defensive when the issue was raised with him. No substantive response or solution was ever given by the restaurant or the hotel (after complaints at the reception and after writing). We left for another hotel. Take away the novelty of being in a chateau and you're left with an awful property with poor management who in our opinion are cowards in completely ignoring legitimate...
