La Champagnotheque — Restaurant in Épernay

Excellent Champagne bar in Cramant. We stumbled across this bar on our last evening in Champagne, and wish we had find it sooner. They source champagnes from across the region and with different types of Champagne for example 100% meunier and 100% Pinot noir, which give you a great understanding of what tastes you like.

The host provided us with a one page of information about the different type of champagnes you can get the region, which we really benefited from as first timers. The space is really modern and has a lovely vibe. The host was attentive and gave us so much information once we asked. They also serve small plates, which were disappointed we couldn’t try as we had just ate.

Would definitely recommend as a place to visit and I think they’re open...

We had a great visit to the La Champagnotheque this week! I highly recommend stopping by for a tasting, to buy some wine and/or for a tasting and a snack (we had the cheese and charcuterie plate, which was great). The owner has a wonderful love of Champagne and sharing it and we really enjoyed the wines we tried and the one bottle we bought (Richomme, Génération 2017), which was exactly the taste profile we described liking. The wines are a careful and impressive selection of independent local producers and the owner has all the information about them and every bottle. Pierre was awesome! My wife and I came at a slow time and Pierre not only gave a great explanation of the options, but also taught us how to grade the champagne!
