Dear Folie Douce Management,
I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to express my deep concern and distress following an incident that occurred at your Meribel venue last Saturday, which has significantly impacted my physical and emotional well-being.
On Saturday, after choosing Folie Douce for a significant dining experience and spending a substantial amount on our dinner, I was subjected to an unprovoked attack by another patron who used pepper spray. This attack not only caused me physical harm but has also left me with emotional trauma. Since the incident, I have found myself unable to sleep, a testament to the severity of the emotional distress I am experiencing.
It is my understanding that venues like yours are equipped with security measures, including CCTV surveillance, to ensure the safety of all patrons. Given the circumstances, I kindly request access to any CCTV footage from Saturday afternoon that may have captured the incident – specifically the pepper spraying. This footage is crucial for my ongoing legal and medical proceedings.
Moreover, I am compelled to address the role of the security personnel on the night of the incident. It is deeply concerning that the individual was allowed entry into the venue with pepper spray and that the security guards did not intervene to prevent the assault. This oversight in security protocol has directly contributed to my current state of distress.
In light of the significant financial expenditure at your venue, the physical injuries, and the profound emotional impact this incident has had on me, I believe it is reasonable to seek compensation alongside a sincere commitment from Folie Douce to review and enhance its security measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
I trust that Folie Douce values the safety and well-being of its patrons and will treat this matter with the urgency and seriousness it deserves. I kindly request a response within 5 days, outlining how you intend to address these concerns.
Your immediate attention to this matter is not only important for my healing process but also crucial in ensuring the safety and security of all patrons visiting your venue in the future.
Thank you for your prompt attention to this urgent matter. I look forward to your...
Read moreMyself and 8 buddies booked a VIP table at La Folie a couple weekends ago. I was in contact with "Momo" ahead of it and he had sent me the VIP menu ahead of time and said we needed to purchase 3L of VIP Champagne or Wine (no minimum spend). We get there at 1:30 pm on Friday and a handful of the tables are taken and no one is in VIP. We ask if we can sit in the middle and they say that's fine. We order some boots of Spritz and a bunch of beers to start. Keep in mind the weather is windy AF and not ideal.
As we get our stuff put away and start getting comfortable and dancing around a bit Momo walks up and I ask him if we can get some cocktails ordered. He says they are too busy to do that. The palce is 1/20th full. Then he says that since we are sitting where we are the top 4 "cheapest" options are off the table and that we need to buy a higher end bottle. Keep in mind literally nobody is in VIP, but he assures me it's packed that day. I tell him the best I'll do is the $2k 1.5L bottle and we'll do way more drinks and boots. He says he'll think about it.
The weather gets worse and everyone goes inside. The bottle arrives at our table and the waiter was SUPER eager for us to open it (to essentially get us to book that bottle) so we agree and pop it and stand behind our word. We head inside to warm up for 20 minutes and they come in to try and get us to sign the check immediately because they are going to close the place down. So they move the goalposts on us on what we can buy, force a bottle we didn't want down our throats, and then shut us down as soon as we open it? Bullshit. We refuse to sign and head outside with a coalition of Brits that were super fun and danced around and kept partying.
The DJ and entertainment was sweet. It's a great scene, but the games like that I have no tolerance for. Spoiler: No one else came to VIP. You are much better off getting there early, get a regular table, and just order drinks from the bar that will actually happily serve you cocktails. VIP not worth it at all for the BS games when you're just trying to...
Read moreWhat a terrible experience!! For the context, we arrived at 12:30 and were told we had to leave at 2pm. After the aperitif, I ordered at 1pm a burger at 47€. I asked without onions and was simply told « we cannot do any change ». For 47€ I believe they could just not add the onions while assembling the burger; doesn’t seem like a crazy ask… but I said that it was ok with onions already astonished . Waiting patiently we asked several time when we would get the food… we finally got a bit upset after waiting for 45 min and they told us : « there are 300 people; it s like that! » After waiting for 50mins (it was then 1:50pm; considering they previously asked us to leave at 2pm…) they finally served us and gave me a burger from the kid menu! I then complained and the only, rather agressive, answer I got was : « we can change it but you will wait for a very long time ! ». Great so what, I am supposed to wait 2 hours to get a burger??? We got mad and asked for commercial gesture ; all I got first was « we can charge you the price of the burger from the kid menu , it s cheaper you know… » while I was at least expecting a free kid burger …. In the end they didn’t charge the burger after I got really upset. But seriously… if you can’t serve 300 ppl at lunch time in peak season, get organized or accept less table reservations ! If you make a mistake while taking orders, don’t get angry at customers or propose silly solutions ; at least own your mistake and try to make a customer that pays 300€ euros for a lunch happy…. It s not because you are trendy that you can just forget what service means and treat customers like they...
