It's truly disheartening to recount my recent experience at this seemingly idyllic restaurant, which I once believed to be a hidden gem. The ambiance was delightful as we enjoyed mulled wine by the crackling fire, surrounded by the serene beauty of pine trees. However, my enthusiasm quickly waned when we attempted to secure a table for lunch. Approaching the reception, I was met with barely a nod of acknowledgment from the staff, who appeared disoriented and confused. Fortunately, we managed to secure a table indoors, as requested. The meal began promisingly with appetising snails paired with a delightful white wine, but unfortunately, the quality swiftly declined. The Caesar salad dressing was subpar, and my chicken Morilles dish was disappointingly watery, accompanied by undercooked potatoes. Voicing our concerns to the waitress, she kindly relayed our feedback to the manager. However, their response was far from satisfactory. We were offered a mere 10% discount, despite the obvious shortcomings of our main courses.Things took a turn for the worse when a rather curt and unaccommodating manager approached us, adamantly refusing to refund the cost of the unsatisfactory mains. His behavior was not only unprofessional but also embarrassing, as he chose to air our grievances in front of other diners. Eventually, begrudgingly, he agreed to remove the main courses from our bill but not without insisting on taking our names, seemingly as a deterrent to our return. It's truly lamentable that such a stunning establishment is marred by such...

Terrible, abrasive and disappointing experience, would not recommend.

We arrived at 2pm for our 2pm booking…there was a huge queue of people who had reservations but no one from the restaurant made any effort to speak to them or give any indication of timings or what was going on. When you tried to talk to managing staff they rudely dismissed you. We waited an hour while multiple tables were seated ahead of us. After complaining we were again dismissed and sent hot wine after requesting a drink, the glasses were half empty and not enough for each person. No one apologized or told us how long we’d be waiting. We waited a further hour and then were essentially shouted at by the managing staff. After 2 hours of standing outside in the cold they didn’t even seat us in the main restaurant, they sat us in a hut outside which was frankly cold and had zero atmosphere. We were eventually moved inside after complaining that our group was frozen.

Needless to say, the food was not worth the wait.. half the steaks we ordered were cooked terribly, the sides, which included soggy potatoes and undercooked vegetable gratin, were cold and tasteless.

Overall, the staff managing things were rude and unpleasant, kept us waiting for a table for over 2 hours with zero communication or regard for our time. We received no apology. The food was average and overpriced. A very disappointing and...

Fast Service with Fast Ski’s!

To be honest I had a long ski day and it was tough on the legs. But! signs is key!! I went past the silly walk route and children’s ski fun area, which was actually the route to go. The signs were moved and put into trees / big mounds to go up. Not fun! It was just quite tiring.

So, not a great start. BUT when you find the restaurant it’s cute, quiet and quite special. It has a real local feel and if you were to be invited here you’d feel like a local. Plus it’s a talking point, unlike most tourist restaurants you find in these vallies.

The starters were delicious. We had the charcuterie board, it came quick and was tasty. I had the burger for the main, which was delicious, nevertheless €30+ for a burger, with a tiny pot of slaw and a handful of chips was cheeky. However, the location and service clearly added the extra 10-15€. (It was still delicious)

The service was quick and friendly, unlike the route back to the village! It’s tough not to give a 5 stars, but the signs and the general route really made it difficult for us to navigate there and back.

All in all, you eat well you get served very well. Yet, getting there and back, get your speed up and don’t complain because I told you so! Side note, I appreciate the open fire cooked...

We were very excited for our lunch in the forest, but unfortunately this was the worst dining experience we have ever had in the Alps. Food was incredibly slow, poorly cooked and overpriced. We tried to complain, but even this was impossible due to the lack of serving staff. When we were told to leave due to overstaying our booking (despite sitting there for over 90 minutes before our food arriving), we finally managed to speak to a manager who did offer us some discount, but the damage was already done. Save your money and time and eat elsewhere. There were some cute dogs but little else to credit this place.

Lovely food & huge portions. We struggled to finish 3 courses, but better too filling than too small! Onion soup was properly done with cheese & bread baked in. Definitely worth booking ahead for groups, - they sent us away when we just turned up so we booked for the following lunch. If you're alpine skiing then access in is just off where the bottom of Loze express lift is. Afterwards it requires a bit of offpiste to get back onto Lapin, or a cross-country flat path back to blanchot (not recommended!).

I had lunch here last week and came back again the next day with a big group of friends for drinks and snacks. The food on both days was excellent - top quality fillet steak, cooked perfectly and a chunky beef burger the next day. The macaroon’s for dessert were really good and we even got a visit from the new pastry chef!
