After a long drive, we were thrilled to discover this restaurant open along the way. I found it quite charming, though I didn't have high expectations for the food. I was pleasantly surprised—the dishes are delicious and plentiful. The service is warm and efficient. I look forward to coming back!

A cozy place to recharge your batteries. Management and staff very friendly and honest options of beer and food. In winter is quite lovely.

I stayed at Hotel Relais des Villards with my retired parents for one night during our road trip around the Alps in September 2014.||||LOCATION ++++||The hotel is located on the main road leading up to/down from Little St Bernardpass/Col du Petit Saint Bernard/Colle del Piccolo San Bernardo. It is easy to find if you are arriving by car. ||||CHECK-IN/FRONT DESK +++++||Italian, French and some English spoken. Very helpful and friendly staff. We arrived late and the hostess was waiting for us. Great customer service both on check-in and check-out.||||ROOMS ++||The interior is outdated but nicely kept and clean. Our room was equipped with flat screen-TV. We stayed in a room sleeping a total of four (kingsize bed and a loft bed). Beds were average.||||COMMON AREAS +++||Nicely kept and clean. No lift available but not required either.||||INTERNET +++||The hotel offers free Wi-Fi internet which worked perfectly well during our stay.|| ||BREAKFAST ++||Breakfast room offered french bread, a few cold cuts, jams, yogurts, fruit juices and coffee. Average to similar hotels in France.||||PARKING ++++||Free parking is available in connection to the hotel.||||ATMOSPHERE +++++||If you looking to experience genuine local atmosphere, this is your choice. The hotel is a traditional hotel with a great view.||||DISABLED GUESTS ()||Check with hotel prior to booking. ||||RATE +++||Paid total €82 inc. VAT for a room sleeping four people in a double (king size) and loft bed. Breakfast was NOT included (ca €10 pp). Local tourist tax added. Stayed Thursday to Friday booked through Hotels.com a few days prior to the stay. ||||SUMMARY/OVERALL VIEW ++||We were happy with our stay staying but would consider other options when returning to the area. However, we can...

If you're piecing together your own ski holiday instead of buying a package, you may find Hotel Relais des Villards a good option as it's only 20 mins down the hill from La Rosiere 1850 and significantly cheaper than hotels in the resort itself. We stayed for 4 nights and drove up and down each day (free parking as you enter the resort, then shuttle bus to the Maison du Ski). You could even just head to the lower chair lift 5 mins from the hotel if you have your skis with you.||||We had a 4-person room (double + 2 singles) and it was more than adequate. Nice big radiators to dry our soggy kit. Slight lack of space around the end of the double bed but nothing major. We didn't take the breakfasts as we thought EUR 8.50 was on the higher side for four of us. But we had dinner at the hotel one evening and it was excellent. The staff were super-friendly and speak sufficient English to get by if your French is poor.||||Overall, a welcoming family-run place and good value...
