Restaurant La Godille — Restaurant in Albertville

The food was really quite poor. We were one of the only tables eating in the restaurant, and ordered 3 burgers and a pizza bisanne. Pizza was nice, although not evenly cooked. Burgers were poor - chips had been fried twice, had the texture of cardboard, were cold, and had no seasoning. Two of the burgers were ordered well done (which in my experience in France is usually still tender and juicy but meat not pink), and the other medium - all burgers came extremely well done, underseasoned and the garnish was disappointing. Regretted ordering dessert - clearly most of these are bought in rather than made in house. Creme brulee was fridge cold and had almost no caramelised sugar. Pistachio financier was bright green but tasted nothing of pistachio - just a vanilla sponge which was overcooked. The dots of bought-in raspberry coulis (on every plate) added nothing. Selection of beers ok but overpriced - bit disappointing that there were very few local beers (e.g. brasserie du mont blanc) - mostly Belgian. The service was warm and friendly, but the place feels like more of a bar than a restaurant. There also appears to (maybe) be staff's friends drinking in the bar which does not help the atmosphere or service. The dining room is a large and cold (in feel) room, which can feel very empty and lacks atmosphere. Nous avons déjeuné à plusieurs reprises dans ce restaurant lors de la saison hivernale, et nous n'avons jamais été déçus : bonne nourriture et vue superbe au bas des pistes La carte propose pas mal de bons plats locaux, fromages et charcuteries, ainsi que des pizzas délicieuses et un plat et un dessert du jour. Nous avons essayé pas mal de plats, à chaque fois délicieux. Le patron et la serveuse sont très sympathiques qui plus est, rien à redire à tous niveaux. Nous avons déjeuné à 4 en famille samedi 04 janvier, très bon accueil des 2 serveuses et de leur patron. La terrasse extérieure est spacieuse et très bien exposée avec une vue dégagée magnifique. La carte est variée, les prix sont corrects , ma fille à eu une vrai part de tartiflette maison dans son menu enfant à 9,90 eur ce qui change des 4 pauvres nuggets industriels de certains autres restaurants sur les pistes. Le service a été rapide et on ne vous presse pas dehors à la fin du repas . Grâce aux bons avis nous sommes venus de Praz sur arly par les pistes pour déjeuner ici et nous ne l'avons pas regretté.
