Unfortunately, I had to give 1 star because I couldn't give 0 stars. The old guy, who either owns this place or works here, needs to figure out what he wants to do with his life because he clearly hates it here. Not even a hello when we walk in which is rude but he was staring at us the whole time we were in there, as if we were inconveniencing him by being there. My autistic daughter sat on the sofa whilst we were looking at the books and I didn't notice her putting her feet on the sofa (which had a cover on it). My attention was caught when he started shouting at her from across the shop with his hands up to his face in horror. You would've thought she had broken a priceless heirloom! She didn't pay any attention to him as she is non verbal so doesn't really pay much attention to what's around her and he just shouted louder and louder. We couldn't understand what he was shouting as it was in French but then said SHOES!! We apologised and explained that she has special needs so didn't realise she did something wrong but he just shouted something at us. I wanted to buy a few things but after that, I didn't want to give him any money. Looking at other reviews on here, it seems that the guy is miserable, rude, unwelcoming and clearly unhappy. How he stays open is beyond me. Stay away...
Read moreWe had a lovely time here. It is a space of peace and quiet. We just had drinks and Tarte aux Pommes. The smoothie for was freshly made and we also had Orangina. Sadly he can’t serve wine or beer without a meal due to license rules. The view is utterly stunning. He also has inside tables. He plays classical music and sells second hand books plus local soap, honey, lavender etc. Service was prompt and kind. A lovely experience in a stunning setting. Highly...
