highest quality, generous and welcoming deserves six stars – worth a detour!

We had a lovely birthday lunch, on the sunny terrace. The menu is varied – several choices per course – and at €22 for three courses very affordable. The supplements for the more complicated dishes are more than justified. Wine service with competent advice. All dishes are inventive, beautifully prepared and of highest quality. on the table: green olive tapenade with toasted bread starters: seasonal vegetables with soft boiled egg St Pierre marinated with citrus fruit Mains: bourride – a variation on bouillabaisse veal sweetbreads with Syrah sauce and truffles Desserts: cheese plate – highest quality selection of quite special cheeses blueberry tart – like everything else (except the cheeses...) made from scratch rolls à volonté, filtered sparkling water 1 liter for €4, refills for €1 generous glasses of quality wines at €5.50 each

And on top of it all friendly and...

Night Menu for 59€ was not worth it. We are pescatarian so mb with meet was better but the price is just not ok for that, nothing special, no plate that was interesting except for the fish soup that was good…the starter was old bread with mayo, fish was boring, no taste…so then you leave the restaurant with 150€ with two cups of wine for nothing much and nothing special, you can and should get really innovative or really good dishes somewhere else for that price. If prices would be lower and they wouldn’t try to be fancy or special by trying to make a fancy plating with normal food then it would be ok. Waiter were excellent, owner not...

We've known the location since the late 1990s when it was Le Fiacre - drove past on the 900, spotted it and turned back - and were saddened at its passing. We discovered Bistrot des Roques about 5 years ago and were regulars for their pris fixe lunchtime menu. La Gaudina matches and exceeds the Bistrot by miles and I really happy for the young couple that run it that they've found a location that lets them do more for more people. Superb selection of dishes - think stuffed zucchini blossom, roasted marrow bone, cod and sweetbreads. Local open wines, such friendly service....

Was so excited to come here but was very disappointed by the food. The setting was gorgeous and the service was the best we had during our trip through the Luberon. However the portions were very small and we left hungry. My father couldn’t have red meat and they gave him two pieces of dry shrimp for his main dish. The chefs seems distracted by VIP customers who were receiving a separate special lobster menu.
